I’m not being divisive but choose not to believe any of the stuff regarding and surrounding Medjugorje. Six Visionaries? Sounds like a Lord of the Rings thing and I’m honestly not trying to be disrespectful here.

Should be interesting to follow the story if it does happen. Although I don’t think anyone in the Vatican, and for that matter, of the Medjugorje visionaries, would talk with the press.

At least I hope they wouldn’t!

It’s taken The Vatican 26 years to do this?
I’m sure I’m missing something. Somebody help me here.

Idunno, since the appearance of the Frying Pan Image of London, this crowd seems to be a bit out of date...

They usually don’t question until after the apparitions have stopped, correct?

I had an interesting experience with one of the visionaries once. I had attended a Marian Conference and he was there speaking. At his usual hour of his daily visions, we held a prayer time with him in the room. I had an over powering feeling I had to pray for a specific thing......imagine my surprise when he stated that Mary had requested of him that we pray for that very same thing. Shook me up a little, as I was a skeptic about it prior to the experience.

First hand account here. I went to Medjugorje in Oct of 97. I have been a faithful Catholic ever since that time. the guy that went with me is a transitional deacon and will be a priest in a year. He has been in formation and on this path ever since we went. This month in my diocese a man who parents organized trips to Medjugorje became a priest. Is it authentic, not for me to say. Have their been good things happen to people who went there, this I can testify to.

People seem much more comfortable acknowledging spiritual phenomena and miracles and saints and Masters... in the past.

Preferably the distant past.

I’m sure God would never upset such preferences.

Apparitions are not fully evaluated, thoroughly check out, etc. by the local Bishop, let alone the Vatican until everything has ceased.

I don’t know if that is the case or not. I’m not up on the latest with this apparition.

Can’t argue with a personal testimony! Thanks for sharing.

I suppose the Vatican is in no hurry because part of deciding whether the visions are of God is looking at what fruit it bears. That can best be seen from a good distance after the fact.

Also, since you don’t need to believe in this or any other post-biblical Marian visions to be a Catholic Christian, what’s the hurry? Many saints have never had any experience like a Marian vision at all, and they are no less close to Jesus.

Tweaked analogy: It’s an intriguing condiment, but it’s not the main entree.

You are taking that one verse out of context:

11 The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, to test him.
12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation."
13 And he left them, and getting into the boat again he departed to the other side.

And many continue to test Him to this day.

This is a little on the stunning side. I thought this one was thoroughly renounced.

I also read up a little on them and after a few pages put it down as fake. There seem to be more of one of them saying this is what I want you to do,,,,,this is the prayer I want you to say...etc....It seem to be I I and I not Jesus, of God the father....IMHO false prophets.....Not at all like Fatima or LaSalette /sp.......
