Then that explains your response.
Whoa, once a week was what I was raised on.
Make? No, the evil one, the adversary can't "make" any one do anting unless they are possessed. What he can do and what he takes great joy(?) in is holding out that what we may be predisposed to as our new god. He knows where we're week and he knows how to tempt us. some of us are stronger than others. Some of us hurt more people that other with our own particular version of the apple. All of us have fallen short of the glory of the Lord*.
*this is not a an attempt to minimize the horrific acts of some priests, religious or Bishops or an attempt to excuse same for same.

From the original homily. “we too insistently beg forgiveness from God and...
What a difference to correct placement of the quotation marks makes.
I am 45 years old.
It’s under the average for men in general. I don’t remember the exact statistics, but actually, the greatest group of child molesters were...married men, usually molesting their own children or stepchildren.
The inspiration to do evil comes from Satan. Some people resist it and some people don’t. But evil is from Satan.
The Pope joined the “Church of What’s Happening Now?”
I am sorry, Satan did not make priests abuse children. Just like Satan didn’t make priests steal money from churches, or have affairs with adult men and women in their parishes, or commit any other sinful act they’ve committed.
Is Satan happy that the priest abuse scandal has hurt the Roman Catholic Church, and Christianity at large? Of course. He’s also happy it’s destroyed a lot of little children’s lives, their families, and everything else that is negatively affected by it.
But to say he caused the priests to do those acts? No. That’s saying the priests had no ability to refuse to do them. No.
Satan doesn't MAKE anyone do anything. Perverts, are perverted because they choose to be in order to fulfill the lusts of THEIR HEARTS.
Dang, beat me!!!
The temptation may (or may not) come from Satan. The evil act comes from us. We are fallen, not possessed. Satan is not omnipotent.
SnakeDoc
Nailed it!!!
“But to say he caused the priests to do those acts? No. Thats saying the priests had no ability to refuse to do them. No.”
Exactly. We have free will and these monsters are attempting to shirk their responsibilty to face what they’ve done. They had choices and gave in. When you surrender your free will, you surrender your soul.
I’d need a link
I thought the Calvinist position was that on their own men could only choose evil.
He gave you rather poor advice. Once a month is much better, it keeps you aware and accountable. It is easier to pour Grace into a clean vessel.
Nobody said that, and in fact that idea (that Satan makes people sin, as distinct from merely encouraging them to sin) would not be compatible with Catholic doctrine.
