PROVO, Utah -- The over-scheduled, over-involved and over-whelmed Mormon woman needs to do two things to de-stress, said two speakers at the recent Women's Conference at BYU: simply life and ask for God's help. "God placed us here to succeed," Sarah Westerberg said. "But mortality will cause stress. It's a natural byproduct."

What’s this? Mormons are required to fast on Sunday?
As with almost everything else mormon, the act of fasting is to be done in a certain manner at a certain time and costs money.
Fast Sunday
The Church designates one Sunday each month, usually the first Sunday, as a day of fasting. Proper observance of fast Sunday includes going without food and drink for two consecutive meals, attending fast and testimony meeting, and giving a fast offering to help care for those in need.
A fast offering should be at least the value of the two meals not eaten. When possible, we should be generous and give much more than this amount.
In addition to observing the fast days set aside by Church leaders, we can fast on any other day, according to our needs and the needs of others. However, we should not fast too frequently or for excessive periods of time.

So which is it ???
The mormon corporation wants to strong arm the members for the amount of the meals ???
Or more than the amount of the meals ???
Is there a list of restuarants andf menu items ythat the members must send in the value of ???
Must it be the equivilance of two meals of steak from a 5 star restuarant for all the members of their family ...
regards of the fact they can only afford to eat hotdogs at home any other time...
or can it be the price of a box of generic corn flakes and milk for a skipped breakfast ???
Scratch that last one...
only an apostate would think of that..
and giving a fast offering to help care for those in need.

Well i hope that means the needy families get to spend that money on themselves instead of sending it to the overpaid millionaire pastors of the mormon corporation ...
Isn’t fasting supposed to be something one does in private, and only between God and that person?
Well, I haven't seen the latest "Schedule A, Approved Meal Items and Cost Breakdown" 'cause I'm not a member anymore. SOME things are confidential, ya know. ;)
I wonder if they drank coffee, how they would figure the tab for the "bottomless cuppa joe" that some restaurants serve?
Is there anything between God and that person in mormonism?
Iff’n ya ain’t good enuff fer family; who else’d want y’all?
God moves in mysterious ways. That fine fellow could really pick-em.
You forgot the part where the Deacons get to drive all over town to collect the Fast Offerings on Fast Sunday.
The 12 year olds go knocking on the doors of active and non-actives to collect and also solicit offerings.
In our area, parents get to drive them around if they have a route that is spread out geographically or they pair up with one of their leaders.
Interesting to note, that the BSA (which the LdS are a large Chartering group) requires that no Scout be alone with an adult. Youth Protection in the BSA, yet it’s presumed that because the boy is with a LdS priesthood member, they’ll be ok.

Don't you notice how the mormon church doesn't trust its members? Especially with money.
Members are required to attend a "tithing settlement" yearly, are required to state if they have paid a "full tithe" in order to obtain a temple recommend and instead of trusting members to voluntarily contribute "fast offerings" there are young men knocking on doors to "collect"...as though this is a debt owed to the mormon church, rather than a contribution made out of one's desire to help the needy.
Much propaganda is spread about the mormon church "helping" others. Why is it that that "fast offerings" are described as "to help the needy" and the enormous revenue collected in tithes is not used for that purpose?
As members of the Church, we give tithing and other offerings to the Lord in money, goods, and time.
Tithing is used by the Church for many purposes. Some of these are to
1. Build, maintain, and operate temples, meetinghouses, and other buildings.
2. Provide operating funds for stakes, wards, and other units of the Church. (These units use the funds to carry out the ecclesiastical programs of the Church, which include teaching the gospel and recreation and social activities.)
3. Help the missionary program.
4. Educate young people in Church schools, seminaries, and institutes.
5. Print and distribute lesson materials.
6. Help in family history and temple work.
Fast Offerings. Church members fast each month by going without food and drink for two consecutive meals. They contribute at least the amount of money they would have spent for the meals. They may give as generously as they are able. This offering is called the fast offering. Bishops use these fast offerings to provide food, shelter, clothing, and medical care for the needy.
As part of the fast, members attend a meeting called the fast and testimony meeting, where they share with each other their testimonies of Christ and his gospel.
Missionary Funds. Members contribute missionary funds to the Church to help spread the gospel around the world. These funds are used to support missions and missionaries in almost every country.
Service. Members also offer their time, skills, and goods to help others. This service allows the Church to help needy members and nonmembers around the world at community, national, and international levels, especially when disasters occur.
For CHRISTIANS, yes.
Giving to the needy?
Sick bastards!
President Gordon B. Hinckley has said that if the principles of fast day and the fast offering were observed throughout the world, the hungry would be fed, the naked clothed, the homeless sheltered. Our burden of taxes would be lightened.
Obviously you LDS folks are slacking off!!!!! Will you please get with it?
Sounds like they are doing more than you are. Just sayin.
I wonder if theres any accounting for all that money that those mormon deacons and those little boys collect from the mormons door to door ???
Are the hungry taken to McDonalds ???
Or is all that tribute err Sheriff of Nottingham taxes errr fasting money (fasting money ???where is that in the Bible ???) still used to pay for the lobster and other sumptuous items on the spread for the GAs meals up in the penthouse on top of the mormon corporation headquarters on conference weekend ???
They do still eat heartil;y like Benson did dont they ???
Those hungry needy GAs ???
and encourage their children and grandchildren to look down and laugh at the peon members eating their cheese sandwiches on the lawn ???
AH yes life is good when youre the king of the mormons (or one of the 14 czars in his cabinet )
That's just so interesting. Based on what?
I recommend frequent masturbation. But then I recommend that for pretty much everyone.
