Pope Benedict to deliver 'intense' message during Fatima visit
EWTN News ^ | 5/5/2010

"Fatima is a particularly significant place for this Pope," said Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi on Tuesday, noting that it was also a destination for two former Popes. The Holy Father has a thorough knowledge of the history of the Marian sanctuary, he added.

Fr. Lombardi held a press conference at the Vatican to prepare the media for the Pope's next trip out of the Vatican. He will be visiting Portugal from May 11-14.

The spokesman referred to the Pope's stop in Fatima on May 13 as the highlight and "heart" of the upcoming four-day trip to Portugal, according to Vatican Radio. But, he pointed out, Benedict XVI will not be the first Pope to visit the Marian shrine.

Two other Pontiffs have been to Fatima. In 1967, the sanctuary hosted Paul VI, and John Paul II visited in 1982, 1991 and 2000, at which time the visionaries Jacinta and Francesco were beatified.

The Portuguese shrine is not unfamiliar to Pope Benedict, since as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger extensively studied the message of Fatima. Fr. Lombardi said on Tuesday that the Pope has been involved with history of the Marian sanctuary in a "very deep, personal way."

It was him, for example, who was called upon to give a theological perspective when the third secret of Fatima was made public in 2000.

The Vatican spokesman said that the Holy Father will also deliver an intense message during his Fatima visit. Upon his arrival at the sanctuary on May 12, he will remember John Paul II and the 29th anniversary of the assassination attempt that nearly took his life on May 13, 1981.

This visit marks the Holy Father's 15th Apostolic Journey abroad in his five years and is his first to Portugal as Pope.

During today's general audience, the Holy Father greeted the people of Portugal in their language, telling them that he will be there this coming weekend at the invitation of the president of the nation and the episcopal conference.

He said he was "happy to be able to visit the 'land of Holy Mary'" on the 10th anniversary of the beatification of the shepherd children.

According to Portuguese press reports, local police are planning for a cumulative total of 450,000 people at the celebrations in Lisbon, Fatima and Portugal during the four-day visit.

Interesting.

Though . . . according to my relative who worked not far from such . . . we DO have such technologies.

At least the globalist oligarchy does.

But did we have them back in the sixties, when Jastrow said this? Also, more to the point, perhaps, they did not exist in Ezekiel’s time. It must have freaked him right out to see these things in the desert.

Hard to say. My relative saw them routinely late ‘60’s early 70’s.

Some say the first crashes were in the 1930’s NOT Roswell.

Something existed back then!

The only other craft type thing I’ve read in a convincing story by an authentic Christian was Jesse DuPlantis 5 hour trip to Heaven. He described very briefly a kind of module like a people moving module that he arrived and left Heaven in. No sensation or perceptions reported of the transit trip or time in it.

Interesting.

Jastrow was interested in all this stuff. He thought it was possible for there to be life forms that were not carbon-based, that could evolve on planets that were composed of different elements than we have here.

“Since we got the teachings directly from Christ Himself...”

Please feel free to post the Scriptures of where Christ is teaching the following doctrines:

* Praying to the dead
* Asking the dead to pray for the living (Praying to Saints/Mary)
* Praying to angels
* Praying to the dead for magical favors (Patron Saints)
* Purgatory
* The Pope
* Papal Succession
* Salvation through good works (required to add to the work of Christ)
* Priests
* Confession to a Priest
* Calling a Priest “Father”
* Priests cannot marry
* Calling any human “Holy Father”
* It is OK to make statues of things in Heaven
* It is OK to light candles to, kneel to statues
* It is OK to light candles to, kneel to wafers
* A magical ceremony will take Christ out of heaven, give him back his human body, and put him in a wafer and wine to be consumed
* Being prevented from consuming this wafer and wine is a punishment
* Consuming this wafer and wine bestows Christ’s grace on you
* Humans have the power and authority to state that you are excommunicated from the Body of Christ and thereby eternal life
* Humans can excommunicate you if they don’t like you for political reasons
* The inquisitions were OK
* Baptism removes original sin and should be done at infancy
* To keep the sin off, Rome rituals must be faithfully completed over and over again until you die
* The Pope can speak infallibly
* The Mass
* Altars
* Rosaries
* It is OK to vainly repeat stock prayers as long as they are to Mary.
* Praying the Rosary (vain repetitions praying to Mary) causes miracles to happen
* It is OK to give the title Vicar of Christ to a man
* Mary was sinless
* Mary was assumed into Heaven
* Mary is now the Queen of Heaven
* Mary can hear prayers and she is to be prayed to
* Mary is to intercede in prayers to Christ instead of Christ interceding in prayers to the Father
* Penance
* Indulgences

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. (2 Thessalonians 2:14)”

Wonderful scripture, but the traditions being talked about here are not Romanist traditions. I don’t see how you can hide the rosary in that passage. Or purgatory. Or calling priests “Father” when other Scripture directly forbids this, etc.

“Which “pagan gods” are you referring to? Catholics believe in the Holy Trinity of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, we believe in ONE GOD.”

Plus Mary. Oh and plus angels. And plus Saints too. All these can be prayed to and asked for favors. Patron Saint of Love? Cupid? Michael the Archangel? Mars? “Mary” is Nimrod’s wife and she’s been with us for a host of name changes.

“Nothing about sermons here:”

Keep looking. You somehow missed the rest of 1 Corinthians. By the way, where in the Scripture you quoted, that has a lot to do with the bread/wine remembrance, is there anything about transubstantiation? If it would be anywhere in the Bible you’d think it would have been mentioned there.

“Well, then it’s a good thing that “transmogrification” isn’t part of the Mass.”

LOL. Had me fooled.

“Read what I posted above.”

Still has me looking for anything, even a brief allude, to the transubstantiation. Can you point out the exact verse that expressed even a bug’s breath of this concept?

“So, you DO want Catholics to stop posting here?”

Are you saying that Vaticanians post idolatry and blasphemy?

Are you saying that they cannot in any way stop posting idolatry and blasphemy, or they would have nothing left to say about their edifice?

Are you saying Vaticanians cannot post about Christ and Christ alone without mentioning angels or Mary or the Saints or the Eucharist or calling the Pope “Holy Father”? (i.e. idols)

Are you saying that Vaticanians have nothing to say about Christ and their love for Him and what they find in His word and how it applies to their life and the world around them?

Are you saying they have nothing to say about the Father? (and I don’t mean the Pope or a Priest)

Are you saying that Vaticanians, who call themselves Christians, have nothing to say about Christ? If they don’t talk about Mary or angels or Saints et al they have nothing left to say? What then, is the religion of Rome?

“And your proof is?”

You quoted it, right below these words of yours.

“Do you DENY that there is Eternal Life with Him in Heaven?”

Eternal life starts after the resurrection. First there will be a Millennial Kingdom. Next will be whatever comes after that. All the Bible says about eternal life from there on out is that we cannot now imagine it.

Do I deny eternal life? No.

Is it in Heaven? Maybe after the Millennial Kingdom but not during it. At that time Christians will be in the City of God ruling and reining with Christ.

Right now at this very moment, however, the resurrection has not yet happened and so everyone who is dead is right now still dead. The Bible states that they are asleep and know nothing.

“Confirming what exactly?”

That Mary was assumed into Heaven, that Mary holds some incredible authority and power in Heaven. That Mary can be prayed to. That Mary answers prayers. That Mary is an intessessor. That Mary is above other humans and should be approached as a deity. That followers of Mary should expect her to return and give more instructions for them to follow.

“By your explanation ANY appearance after the Resurrection is anti-Christian...”

I’ve said no such thing. You must take any event, and especially supernatural ones, to the Word and compare it to Scripture to see if it conflicts. God warned us to be careful and to expect false signs and wonders.

“...that would mean the Pentecost, Paul’s conversion, the Revelation of Saint John...”

These events pass the Scripture test.

“Nope. My mother was fully human.”

So it was your father then.

“We Christians...”

Who do you think you’re fooling?

“...capitalize the word Christian..”

In the middle of the word antichrist?

“I don’t want to end up in the slurry.”

You don’t want to end up in a thick suspension of solids in a liquid? People sure talk weird on that planet X of yours.
