Maybe the title should have been:

Another Liberal Nun continues Support for Obama Through Support of Liberal Priest who campaigned for Obama

No church organization could possibly be held in respect that “honors” a racist hate monger like Pfleger.

I don’t know how main stream Catholics let their church get away with this. I’d cut off the collection plate donations.

I think that is the most effective way. Many Bishops and priests are sensitive to drops in collections.

That was a tactic used against The University of Notre Dame because of the Obama honor.

Ping - Unfortunately, Father Jim Heyd (formerly of Priests for Life) is the Pro-Life Liason for Cardinal George.

I imagine Father Jim Heyd is quite upset about this.

There is no way I can possibly consider the catholic church a reputable organization with priests like this racist hatemonger.

Maybe Cardinal George should have spent more time in front of the Most Holy Eucharist years ago.

Stand by. The Marxists are at work in the Catholic Church.

If I were a Catholic, I would demand that Cardinal Francis George step down. I would send a petition to Pope Benedict XVI with as many signatures as I could collect to have this insurgent Francis George taken to task as one who will use Christ’s teachings to advance Communism.

Actually, Catholics HAVE cut off donations. The ones that still give are the ones who don’t realize how pro-abortion many of the bishops are.

Cardinal George showed his true colors when he backed down years ago, letting Pfleger continue his pro-abortion activism, and his clownish, sacrilegious “liturgies.”

Pfleger has deep ties to the gangs in Chicago. Cardinal George probably owes his life to the fact that he has been truckling to Pfleger ever since he got to Chicago.

But aren’t Roman Catholics supposed to defer to their priests? If the Vatican has affirmed a particular Roman Catholic priest, how can they be faulty?

Just picking on certain FReepers (not you, that I know of) who love to trash Evangelicals because there are some “bad seeds” among Evangelicals. Sin and false doctrine are found in every denomination, including the RCC.

Did Mother Theresa ever get a Life Time Achievement Award for her work in the Slums of Calcutta by Cardinal George?

The Catholic Church is not a democracy, or a republic. As you suggested, its members can contribute their money to charities other than the Catholic Church, or they can attend some other Christian denomination.

Easily. They're human. There's no "infallibility" at issue here if that's what you're getting at.

I still think that the Office of Racial Justice should get an earful on this subject.

Maybe the CBR Trucks and Airplane out to visit Chicago about the time of this award like they did with the University of Notre Dame last May.
