Actually, Catholics HAVE cut off donations. The ones that still give are the ones who don’t realize how pro-abortion many of the bishops are.
Cardinal George showed his true colors when he backed down years ago, letting Pfleger continue his pro-abortion activism, and his clownish, sacrilegious “liturgies.”
Pfleger has deep ties to the gangs in Chicago. Cardinal George probably owes his life to the fact that he has been truckling to Pfleger ever since he got to Chicago.
The Catholic Church is not a democracy, or a republic. As you suggested, its members can contribute their money to charities other than the Catholic Church, or they can attend some other Christian denomination.
