Nothing less than a complete apostasy from the Christian religion would warrant the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.History of the Church, Volume 1, p. XL
According to LDS Scripture, the Apostle John (D&C 7) and the three Nephites (3 Nephi 28) never died. So, how could Gospel authority have left the earth, needing restoration?
in the latter times some shall depart from the faith 1 Timothy 4:1
If only some would depart from the faith, how could a complete apostasy have occurred? Did Jesus fail to preserve His Church against the gates of hell?
I will build MY church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
...that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once [for all time] delivered unto the saints. Jude 3
...but though we, or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:9
I would never claim that our works save us - they dont - but we are commanded to repent and bring forth fruits meet for repentance.
- - - - - -
But that isn’t what the LDS teaches.
Define ‘save’ and compare and contrast to ‘exaltation’.
Are works needed (of any type) to get us back into the presence of God the Father for Eternity??
I know the LDS answer and it isn’t what you stated above.
Let me address this issue of Christ being Satan’s brother. For some this is a major issue, but why it should demean Jesus, I don’t know.
Latter-day Saints believe that all of God’s children lived as spirits before we were born. This is often referred by Church members as the premortal existence or preexistence.
Jesus was the firstborn of all God’s children and chosen and anointed by the Father in this premortal existence to be the Savior of mankind. Lucifer was among these hosts in the premortal existence and because of jealousy and pride (wanting God’s honor for himself) rebelled against God and declared war against the Father and the Son.
Because of rebellion he was cast out of God’s presence along with many others who had followed him in the rebellion (sometimes referred to as the “war in heaven” , and became Satan, the father of lies. His mission to fight against the Father and the Son continue on this earth where he seeks to tempt us humans to sin.
Christ is all good, Satan is all evil. While technically you could say they are brothers, there is no similarity at all between them. To me this “relationship” does not diminish Jesus in the slightest.
Best,
Normandy
Did an angel of light give him MORE scripture?
Well; it isn't.
The fact that the two PERSONAGES are biblical descriptions of Satan's Minions is the problem.
Everything else is just noise.
Why?
I think that all non-Muslims ARE called infidels.
I have said all I am going to say about my Savior.

Yes, Joey Smith comes up short in the “savior” business...
There’s not much to tell...
the mormon jesus is a weak hollow subject...
But Christians never weary of telling of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Christians...
Jesus is everything to Christians..
Jesus is never a boring subject...
jesus is never too “secret” a subject...
Jesus is never too “sacred” a subject...
Jeus is never too personal a subject...
Are we to believe that an Etheopian Government official traveling to and from Jerusalem would travel alone without fellow travelers or guards through the desert? He most likely was in a caravan with lots of other people just like Paul was with others when he was blinded and knocked off his high horse.
Common!
Well; it's hard to tell how much of those folks you 'hung' around with explained their beliefs to you, but tongues IS one of the GIFTS of the Spirit, as the Bible plainly states.
As far as a MANIFESTATION - I don't think the Holy Spirit does this.
There are some pentacostal groups that say speaking in tongues is THE gift of the Spirit, and if you don't, then you ain't got it - which is clearly AGAINST what the Bible says.
I believe that we are able to return to the presence of the Father and the Son through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
In order for Christ’s sacrifice to become effective in our lives we must believe in Him, repent of our sins and have a mighty change of heart — be born again. We need to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost and endure in faith to the end of our lives which I take to mean striving to keep the commandments of God and continuing to repent of our sins when we fall short.
Then leave the Organization; as we WILL continue to point out the ERRORS of mormonISM.
2 Corinthians 11:12
And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.
I know, I know....
You guys don't think of US as equal; but lower class.
Well; that means that ROMNEY is screwed!
You say my Jesus is not your Jesus.

Actually it was your Hinckley who said that...
Dont you believe the words of your own mormon leaders ???
Dont you sustain your mormon profits ???
Arent you supposed to in order to be a good mormon and toget a temple recommend ???
Not the same Jesus
“There are those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints do not believe in the traditional Christ.
No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak.
LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley (LDS Church News, June 20, 1998)
It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshipped by the Mormons. LDS publication, Ensign Magazine, May 1977, p. 26
