Any theory about on which days of the week our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected stands or falls by its answering for the day He was BURIED on: "That Day great day sabbath" of the passover, Abib 15, from its BEGINNING "EVENING HAVING HAD COME", Mk15:42 Mt 27:57 Lk23:50 Jn19:31,38 -- UNTIL its ENDING having begun "MID-AFTERNOON" "by the time of the Jews' prepararions" "the Sabbath (Seventh Day of the week) drawing near", Lk23:54 Jn19:42 -- "That Day having been The Preparation which is The Fore-Sabbath" : the Sixth Day of the week, 'Friday'.
Any theory about on which days of the week our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified AND BURIED and resurrected stands or falls by its answering for 'the God-given and therefore eschatological IMPERATIVE WHOLENESS' (Lohmeyer's words) of the "three days and three nights" "three days" on "the third day" of which "He rose from the dead ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES" 1Cor15:3-4 the passover-Scriptures of both the Old and the New Testaments.
I have written more extensively and in depth on the subject than anyone else in the history of Christianity from the standpoint of a Reformed Protestant Christian believer who fully and unconditionally confesses the Apostolic Confession of Faith, and in particular believes the absolute Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ before, during, and after He became Man and died, and was Buried, and rose again unto the eternal salvation and life of the Elect of God.

Oh have a happy Easter.
THANKS FOR YOUR KIND PING.
Personally, I think that gets into the sort of futile contentious arguments that Scripture exhorts against.
There’s no end of hair-splitting nonsense in the name of religion.
Sigh.
Sorry.
Maybe Gamecock or some of the others want to bother with it.
...because arguments are always more convincing WHEN YOU USE A LOT OF CAPS. AND EXCLAMATION POINTS ARE GOOD TOO!!!!!!
***Jesus said 3 days and 3 nights in Hell.***
Just where did he say that?
Exactly.
Thanks for the ping, Quix!
Thanks for your kind reply.
There seems to be a lot of confusionshalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
among those who think of themselves as Christians.Lots of paganism was promulgated from the Council of Nicea.
YHvH's Commanded Feasts were rejected and replaced by pagan feasts.
From this rejection of the Holy Word of G-d,
all forms of man made tradition rose up.Yah'shua sacrificed himself as the Korban Pesach
as a covering for all of our sins. All sin was removed on the day of Hag Matzoh.
He rose from the dead on the YHvH commanded Feast of First Fruits.
Which is the day following the Shabbat following Pesach.Easter and Good Friday and all the other trappings
come from rejecting the Holy Word of G-d and
replacing it with man-made tradition as modern day Pharisees.
Kosher is not scriptural.
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
It is the date of YHvH's commanded Feast of Pesach. Abib(Barley) and Nisan are two names for the first month of YHvH's calendar. The fifteenth of Abib is another name for the fifteenth of Nisan.
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
There are Bereans who preach the Holy Word of G-d
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
to those following the Roman "church"'s Pharisees.
Sure there are aspects of Easter that can trace their roots to paganism. But the world would be a bit poorer without a few (Brach) Jelly Beans.
A lot of good points there, Chuckles.
Paragraphs are nice, too.
And if they were c or vb developers, they would say 0 is Kentucky Avenue, 1 is Chance ...
Um, everybody knows the Catholic Church picked the day for Easter, Christmas, All Hallow’s Eve, etc. They made their choices based on history, tradition, and the festivals converts were used to celebrating. The Sabbath was the Jewish Sabbath and Christ was rushed into burial before the sun went down and the Sabbath began. Don’t forget the young Catholic Church was staffed by many of Christ’s actual disciples and their children.
Oh, and the Catholic Church selected everything contained in the Bible too. So, if you’ve got a problem with their holidays, you might...

John 19:31 says, Now it was the Day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath.
You called that a lying report.
If you dont like it, be honest and cut it out of your bible.
Frankly, youre not making any sense. You say one thing, then deny it.
Pearls and dust.
Ans:
I do not like it; and I will not hesitate to cut out of my Bible this corruption by puny men: “Now it was the Day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath.” So help me God, I shall loose my life to preserve John 19:31 that says: “THAT (VERY SAME) DAY WAS great day of sabbath” -— of the passover”, and that “THAT DAY” in its ending hours, “the Sabbath (Seventh Day) neared”.
I seem to recall the concept of zero on the number line was first advocated by the Hebrew scholars in association with the tradition or Kabbalah in their numerology. I concur with chuckles’ post regarding the feasts as providing a check on the timeline.
