Any theory about on which days of the week our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected stands or falls by its answering for the day He was BURIED on: "That Day great day sabbath" of the passover, Abib 15, from its BEGINNING "EVENING HAVING HAD COME", Mk15:42 Mt 27:57 Lk23:50 Jn19:31,38 -- UNTIL its ENDING having begun "MID-AFTERNOON" "by the time of the Jews' prepararions" "the Sabbath (Seventh Day of the week) drawing near", Lk23:54 Jn19:42 -- "That Day having been The Preparation which is The Fore-Sabbath" : the Sixth Day of the week, 'Friday'.
Any theory about on which days of the week our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified AND BURIED and resurrected stands or falls by its answering for 'the God-given and therefore eschatological IMPERATIVE WHOLENESS' (Lohmeyer's words) of the "three days and three nights" "three days" on "the third day" of which "He rose from the dead ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES" 1Cor15:3-4 the passover-Scriptures of both the Old and the New Testaments.
I have written more extensively and in depth on the subject than anyone else in the history of Christianity from the standpoint of a Reformed Protestant Christian believer who fully and unconditionally confesses the Apostolic Confession of Faith, and in particular believes the absolute Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ before, during, and after He became Man and died, and was Buried, and rose again unto the eternal salvation and life of the Elect of God.

Jesus is Kosher, He doesn’t approve spam.
Who cares?
Isn’t it enough that he died as the Son of God for your sins and rose from the dead three days later?
Who really cares about other unimportant details?
Thanks for the post. Can you make your argument without quoting Abib 15 and Lohmeyer? I am unfamiliar with both. I am very familiar with OT and NT.
Shhhh.
Just don’t tell ‘em about Christmas.
That ain’t in There either.

Some would suggest that “three days later” (or, as Matthew 12 puts it: the sign of Jonah, three days and three nights) rules out a Friday crucifixion.
You simply cannot get “three days and three nights” by counting from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning.
So, if that’s the case, “Good Friday” is an invalid name. It should be called “Sad Friday,” because the disciples were undoubtedly in deep mourning for their dead leader that day.
Scripture strongly points toward a Thursday afternoon crucifixion, followed by a double Sabbath (the Passover Sabbath on Thursday, followed by the weekly Sabbath on Saturday), with resurrection and joy on Sunday morning. John’s gospel even says that the day after the crucifixion was a “Special Sabbath,” indicating it wasn’t a Saturday.
It matters to those of us who believe that Scripture means what it says.
It seems like every year around Christmas and Easter crazies come out of the woodwork claiming strange heracies like the ones listed above.
See Post #7.
Christ was not toooo popular in His day either. I don't have a clue who the 'wise' guy(s) were that took the 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb and made it into a day and a half but the hours just do NOT add up with the time appointed.
I will review your post. Thanks.
How about this:
Any day I find fit to give thanks to my Savior, I celebrate.
Jesus will laugh at you for thinking any of this matters, when your time comes.
The Calendar, itself, is a creation of MAN designed, imperfectly, to describe movement of the Earth around the sun, and to describe the rotation of the Earth, on its Axis, and to describe the rotation of the Moon, around the Earth.
The Calendar, itself, has been changed several times.
Jesus said 3 days and 3 nights in Hell. Have you actually been to Hell? Days and nights in hell may have no correlation with time here on this Earth. We measure a day on the Earth by the travel of the Sun, but I don’t believe there is a sunny day in Hell.
The dates are picked to correlate to the calendar. What is your point exactly?
Somehow, the contradiction with Lk 24:45 needs to be reconciled. The best explanation I have heard is that "3 days and 3 nights" was a Hebrew expression that literally meant 3 days. I do not know Hebrew and my Greek is woefully lacking, so it is difficult for my to go back to original docs or early copies and determine what was meant 2000 years ago.
ahhh ... .. geezzzzzzzzz...
Looks like there’s about to be another denomination.
Nor in much of upstate New York, lately... :)

And he hasn't posted a single reply comment either. Just dropped his site advertisement and ran for the hills.
Doesn't this rightfully belong over in Bloggers or something? Although I must say that the site he hawks appears legit and full of information, unlike most blogs.
That's not in the Bible either.
Cheers!
