Benny Hinn 'Shocked' by Divorce Papers (wife, Suzanne files for divorce)
Christian Post ^ | 02/21/2010 | Audrey Barrick

After more than 30 years of marriage, faith healer Benny Hinn may be heading to divorce court.

Benny Hinn Ministries on Thursday confirmed that his wife, Suzanne Hinn, filed a petition for divorce in Orange County Superior Court on Feb. 1. She cited irreconcilable differences.

Though the couple separated on Jan. 26, according to court papers, the organization released a statement expressing shock.

"Pastor Benny Hinn and his immediate family were shocked and saddened to learn of this news without any previous notice," said Don Price, longtime senior advisor to Benny Hinn Ministries. "Although Pastor Hinn has faithfully endeavored to bring healing to their relationship, those efforts failed and were met with the petition for divorce that was filed without notice."

Just months before the petition, world renowned and controversial preacher Benny Hinn had come out to the public to answer his critics for the first time.

For years, Hinn has been a subject of scrutiny by the media and recently the government for the miraculous healings he claims to perform and the lavish lifestyle he leads. He travels to cities across the globe conducting "miracle crusades" and services. Reports from each event indicate that dozens are miraculously healed from a physical ailment, though Hinn admitted to ABC News recently that he doesn't have medical verification of the healings.

He also told ABC he has no misgivings about the comfortable lifestyle – a private jet, fancy hotel stays, and a multimillion-dollar home – he leads.

"Look, you know there's this idea supposedly that we preachers are supposed to walk about with sandals and ride bicycles. That's nonsense," he said.

Hinn is currently under a Senate investigation for possible financial misconduct.

Didn’t Andy side with his mother in the divorce?
IIRC that was a circus. We lived in Dunwoody at the time and had friends who attended the church. It was sad for all concerned.

Blind prophets leading the blind! This is one of the most frightening exhibitions of demonic possession and Satanic influence I have ever witnessed! People should avoid Hagen and Copland and their teachings like the plague. False prophets, false shepherds leading the masses to hell!

It appeared like the demons within Hagen and Copland were laughing through them at the masses they were deceiving.

Sadly, no one in the entire audience had enough spiritual discernment to see what was going on or the courage to boldly stand up and say: "This is, NOT OF GOD, this is demonic, this is Satanic, this is heresy!"

Is there a “Love Child” in the background? (I confess I love that old tabloid expression “Love Child!”

If only we could change it to "Sex Child."

Or a number of other things, some not entirely pintable:
“F-— child”
“Hornykid”
“Philander Progeny” (Hmm...the name of a character in a future novel.)

Also Verse 39 is interesting. “The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.”

Once the divorce has taken place, the man is no longer the husband...And the woman is no longer the wife...

Is that your opinion?. That isn’t what that verse says. Who’s
law is more important, man’s or God’s?

When the husband committed adultery she was freed of that marriage, it is as if the marriage never took place.

I think you are referring to Holy Land in Orlando?

Yeah, I heard about that.

Unfortunately the “Scriptorium”, a very nice museum that chronicles the history of the Bible and ends up with a Spurgeon Exhibit, and contains some priceless old Bibles from a private collection, is on the grounds there.

I shudder to think what will become of that segment of the property, since it is actually SCRIPTURAL.

That’s not how he was raised. His parents were Arab Orthodox Christians. As I said, he apostacized.

If you don’t tithe you are not lining up with God’s principles for providing for the church.

Remarrying and realizing the failures of your first marriage is far better than burning with passion. Doing so if the right person comes along is far healthier for all concerned.

nope...you don’t get to make the rules hers!!!

Nope, still don’t agree with you. I thought that you werem ill and out of it for a while....are you O.K.?? we can use all the freepers that we can get........anyway, back to tithing....that bblical concept was certainly understandable when the church or synagogue were responsible for the “widows and orphans”....so to speak...but the government has largely taken over that responsibility and I therefore consider a portion of the taxes that I pay part of my tithe. While there are great church sponsored charities, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, etc...these are charities not directly connected to the duties of the church. I donate a fair amount of my income to my church, some to Catholic Charities, some to our local homeless/unmarried mother charity and some to special olympics....I think I’m O.K. with God

I had kidney transplant but still not fully recovered. If I had only known....

We can do all kinds of things to get around tithing but I have personally found that when we tithe. GOD CAN GIVE THE INCREASE. He wants the first fruits of our wages. We give to a lot of charities and we still don’t miss that money.
