Is there life after death? Theologians can debate all they want, but radiation oncologist Dr. Jeffrey Long argues that if you look at the scientific evidence, the answer is unequivocally yes. Drawing on a decade's worth of research on near-death experiences work that includes cataloguing the stories of some 1,600 people who have gone through them he makes the case for that controversial conclusion in a new book, Evidence of the Afterlife. Medicine, Long says, cannot account for the consistencies in the accounts reported by people all over the world. He talked to TIME about the nature of near-death experience, the intersection between religion and science and the Oprah effect.

“”Hypoxia doesnt explain raising up over ones body, visually observing and ascending through acoustical tile ceiling in a trauma center, and reading serial numbers on light fixtures above the ceiling directly above the body not visible from the body, then immediately returning to the body and awaking when ammonia capsules are snapped beneath ones nose.””
In one of my discussions with Bruce Greyson, NDE researcher at University of Virginia, he told about how they painted a pattern on the floor in the hospital one level above the operating room. They would then ask the NDE experiencers what it was... They responded.. “Why the heck would I ever look down!”
“Well first we know that energy is neither created nor destroyed, merely changed.”
Very, very true. And, when I say a prayer which transmutes a low frequency energy to a high one, an unbelievable amount of heat is given off. Saying a prayerful blessing to an evil person truly is like putting hot coals on top of their head.
I’ve had people open their eyes and explain that it felt like a hot knife inside their body. I never touched them, merely said a silent prayer from a few geet away.
This is why the tares in the wheat will be burned at the same time that your sons & daughters have the visions and dreams.
thank you for taking the time to reply in such detail. OK, one more question:
What do you mean “souls are growing like crazy right now”? I thought people had souls, so more people on Earth, more “souls”. Do souls come into existence independent of human beings?
I know quite a bit of advancement has occurred in neuroscience in the past 2 decades. Do you know of a good recent sophmoric to graduate intro text to neurology which describes the present state of the art in neurology and perception? Something which would give a well trained scientist/engineer in other disciplines the state of the art in present neurological understanding?
“What do you mean souls are growing like crazy right now? I thought people had souls, so more people on Earth, more souls. Do souls come into existence independent of human beings?” YES
Souls do not fill the body like soda being poured into a bottle. The physical body is a manifestation of the soul which is physically much much bigger. Healing the soul heals the body.
While I do not participate in the abortion debates... science should settle the issue. The zygote would not grow if the soul had not entered, just as the cells stop functioning at death when the soul detatches. Hair and finger nails do not continue to grow as old fables tell us. Life is gone, just like a dead tree!
Very often, I have told people about their mother’s events while they were in her womb. The memories are there, just stored from the mother’s perspective as the child in the womb cannot differentiate between themselves and their mother. This is the first imprint on the new “tabula rasa.”
The Bible is very accurate... Man was made in God’s image... just not in an anthropomorphic physical body manner.
Funny thing.. Many times I will know when a woman is pregnant even before they do. The loving energy that radiates from a new soul in the womb is unmistakable. It’s like a fire hose of loving energy radiating outward. It’s the reason why we must be like a child in order to know thy “Father.”
I would start by reading Bruce Lipton’s book.. “Biology of Belief.” It’s an excellent book on epigenetics. He is on the medical school faculty at Stanford.
He distorted some of the research done on the agouti mice by Jirtle at Duke University a few years ago, but what he says is relatively accurate.
Epigenetics is about the external influences on the DNA transcription process. I show how perception is one of the strongest influences, especially as it relates to liver enzyme production. Drug companies compare their new drugs to placebos. They should be studying how to make placebos work better! That’s by changing perception!
I have often thought of the similarities here about something, and have never heard anybody else comment on it.
“Going through a long tunnel and into the light...”
In fact that very same thing has happened to all (well, most) of us way before we die.
It’s called childbirth.
Interesting, eh?

The purpose for the tunnel is that it is a pathway opened up through a layer of mis-shapen beings that serve as a sort of fence between layers. Low frequency spirits, upon seeing these experience fear which causes them to sink down and not elevate to places where they do not belong.
I’ve gone through this tunnel several times. The most profound was while holding my father’s hand when he died. The feeling experienced is truly beyond words.
When a person dies, the soul’s awareness is no longer limited to the physical body. It expands through the layers of the soul where memories are stored. This is the so called “judgement” or life review of Hebrews 9:27. These are the same fields I read when working with a person. Memories are stored in specific patterns with the early childhood stored in the outer perimeter, about fifteen feet away from the physical body. The soul spins like a centrifuge, this is what causes the sequencial layering of memories. When I remove a low frequency layer, the wall you see in the person’s eyes is gone. The eyes truly are the window to the soul. Why this is true has puzzled me for some time. I think it has to do with the fact that the neurons in the eyes are bi-polar, unlike neurons in other parts of the body.
I did hospice work for a while, helping people be comfortable with the death process. A story I often tell is about two young babies in the womb. Twins, a boy and a girl. All of a sudden the two are getting squeezed and the boy says to the girl... “this is it, we are going to die now! This is all there is. The girl responded...”No, No, I think there is more to life than just being here in this warm liquid, hearing the thump, thump and being content.” ........ And then they were born... Death is a commencement, not a terminal event.
“New soul” in the womb? Did the “new soul “ have a prior existence, in which case it is not “new”, and if it did not, where did it come from? If it did have a prior existence, was it in someone else’ body, and , if so, who/what decides which new body to “enter”?
Are there more souls than there have been humans on the planet, or less, or the same amount?
Thanks

I leave that question for each to investigate on their own. I have my own opinion, but I reserve the right to be WRONG!
But does the answer to that question really matter? If life is about soul growth, any unresolved issues from a supposed past life will manifest in the current life. Thus the answer is not important. One must deal with that which they are facing now, irregardless of the past or whether it existed or not.
“Are there more souls than there have been humans on the planet, or less, or the same amount?”
Here now? Not more than there have been physical lives in history, but more than are currently living in physical bodies. My Father’s Mansion has many rooms. People do change rooms!
Thanks. OK - last question ( I promise):
If souls aren’t currently living in bodies, then where are they and how do they occupy their time?
“If souls arent currently living in bodies, then where are they and how do they occupy their time?”
Many are stuck here in this realm without physical bodies. They are referred to as ghosts when people encounter them. They are just stuck! Some attach to people, some stay in a building or physical location, some just wonder around... lost. These are the people who were attached to fear, greed, anger, severe guilt or some other lower consciousness when their soul detached from their bodies. Their awareness is very limited and often they are even unaware they do not have bodies. Side note: I have found many of these who were soul’s from abortions who attached to their mother. Recently I was doing a reading on a guy who had Lou Gehrig’s Disease. It was a real unusal pattern as it went out further than other people. I asked him if it was possible that his mother had a miscarriage prior to his being born. His older sister, who had brought him to me due to his severe symptoms confirmed that to be true. It was odd as he tested for memories several years prior to being born, that’s what led me to ask the question.
His case was similar to what I have found in cancer and other autoimmune disorders where the subconscious emotional aspect of the soul from early development was in self punshment mode from a reversed reward/punishment system. (they are positively stimulated by criticism and negatively stimulated by praise) I have found this in every cancer patient I have tested. When I touch the stored memory it knocks them off their feet to the side, even though I am about 10-12 feet away from them.
This is why Jesus said “You are forgiven.” as He healed people’s souls and thus their physical bodies.
Why would the divorce rate go higher if souls are growing? That seems counter to what one would expect that as the soul grows the ability to love increases one would hope there would be less divorce, not more.
Also I thought it very interesting about the childhood memories stored in the soul which is larger than the body. I serve in our church's youth group, which involves praying for the kids who ask for it. I have noticed that when I lay hands on them, I sometimes do pick up impressions, of sorrow, of fear, of resentment,or the like, which I use to guide my prayers for them. I don't always get this so I wondered if perhaps I was making it up.I wish I could learn to pray more effectively for them. I practice centering prayer for about an hour a day which is a form of contemplative prayer, and I think that helps, but I wondered if you had any suggestions ?
Thank you in advance.RB
