Featured Term (selected at random):
The opening words of the prayer, addressed to the people at Mass after the Offertory, "Pray, brethren, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father." Their response emphasizes both the distinction and the similarity between the priest's sacrifice at the altar and that of the faithful.
I must be at church shortly to help in taking telephone requests for free delivery of meals for Christmas Day — so I do not have time to research if this is changing with the new translations.
Please jump in with it if you have it. Thanks!

Catholic Word of the Day Ping!
Please send me a FReepmail if you would like to be on the Catholic Word of the Day Ping List.
The response by the people attending the Mass:
May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his Church...
...except that the English translators left out a very important word from the Latin original ...totiusque ecclesiae suae sanctae...and all of His Holy Church...do you think they just overlooked it in the years of study, and committee upon committe review of it, or did they do it on purpose...the thought that the Church might be holy maybe appalled them, do you think...let us strive to apply the highest reverence in our liturgy, rather than common denominator utility...
