My Daughter's best friend on her soccer team (U12) was injured at a match on Saturday. She has a spinal contusion diagnosed as Conus Medullaris Syndrome. She is only 11 years old and is paralyzed from the waist down. I do not normally post such things, but she is a wonderful young lady whose life may have just changed forever. Any prayers would be appreciated.
What is the little girl’s first name? I’ll add her to our Parish Prayer list next week!
Mackenzie. They’ve found a 2nd tear and now a fracture. She’s in amazing good spirits and surrounded by good thoughts.
Prayers are up.
Prayers for God’s blessings on all.
Prayer BUMP
Oh my! I’ll add this young lady to my prayer list.
Praying for her and her family and friends.
So sad. Prayers up.
Mackenzie will be lifted up in prayer in the New Year!
I know this was a long time ago, but I was just wondering if the girl’s conus medullaris syndrome became any better in the last five-six years? I had a skiing accident and shattered two vertebrae/cracked all the others, and ended up with conus medullaris syndrome so I know what she is going through and my heart goes out to her (it’s so incredibly awful). It’s been a year and my nerves haven’t really healed from what I can notice. They say only time will tell if any of them will regrow. I am 20 years old, so also very young when this happened so I can understand how hard it is to cope with the fact that life will never be the same. My heart really does go out to her. Let me know if you have an update on her prognosis! I’m curious if any of her nerves grew back :)
