That may or may not be true. We are in a new paradigm with respect to the 18-29 year-old demographic. At no time since people have been tracking this demographic (at least since 1960) has a candidate or a party enjoyed as much support as Barack Obama does. He won this demographic by over 36 percentage points. With 18-29 year-old white males and females, he enjoys an approval rating of over 70%. His reception at Notre Dame is no surprise, although it should be sobering.

To put it in better perspective, Reagan barely lost this demographic in '80 and both Reagan and Bush won it convincingly in '84 and in '88 respectively.

Unless the GOP and conservatives can find a way to reach out to these voters and to shrink this gap, they're going to be on the outside of government, looking in for a long time.

1. Notre Dame is NOT a member of the Ivy League, and never has been.

2. All of the most prestigious schools in America are run by libs, so I don't see how it damages its reputation.

No, Obama doesn’t own the country. It’s a facade. Assume that some of them might be the first generation to graduate from college. Why let Obama ruin it? Today it’s the graduates’ day. Tomorrow the administrators will have to re-evaluate the meaning of Notre Dame.

That is exactly why I suggest that Mom and Dad sell out and buy a one bedroom condo when the last fledgling leaves the nest...

My parents began drilling me from the age of about 14 onward, that once I passed the age of 21, I would no longer have any claim to floorspace in their house, and if they deigned to allow me to live with them after that, that my relationship would be that of a renter - nothing more.

They never sold the big four bedroom house, and since we (7) left home, only a couple of us have ever endured the discomfort of living under their roof, even temporarily.

I'm drilling my kids the same way now.

First, he nationalized banks - then he installed fear and brown shirts, and then he attacked religion and you know the end - so much than nobody dared to fight anymore because of fear and retaliation. I did undergrad at a liberal institution and am doing law school at one that turned out to be just as liberal and it pushed me further to the right.

I simply can't watch it. It's nauseating.

I can think of one benefit to all of this, which is that this has called attention to the fact that many Catholic universities are only nominally Catholic.

I find it amazing how accommodating this University is being for Obama.

Some may have missed it, but Obama is listening through and earpiece as the priest speaks.
