"Abortion is a Blessing" (per Episcopal new Dean - Kay Ragsdale)
beliefnet ^ | March 30, 2009 | Amy Welborn

Posted on 04/01/2009 8:50:07 PM PDT by chase19

How radically pro-abortion is Katie Rags? This radically pro-abortion:

And when a woman becomes pregnant within a loving, supportive, respectful relationship; has every option open to her; decides she does not wish to bear a child; and has access to a safe, affordable abortion - there is not a tragedy in sight -- only blessing. The ability to enjoy God's good gift of sexuality without compromising one's education, life's work, or ability to put to use God's gifts and call is simply blessing.

These are the two things I want you, please, to remember - abortion is a blessing

and our work is not done.

Let me hear you say it:

abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.

I want to thank all of you who protect this blessing - who do this work every day: the health care providers, doctors, nurses, technicians, receptionists, who put your lives on the line to care for others (you are heroes -- in my eyes, you are saints); the escorts and the activists; the lobbyists and the clinic defenders; all of you. You're engaged in holy work. http://ragsdalesermons.blogspot.com/2008/08/our-work-is-not-done.html

This was one of her sermons. Nothing much to say that the comments at her blog (see link) didn't say.

I can’t help but wonder just which “god” is blessing her?

Speechless. So, is the Episcopal Church now officially the Church of Satan(TM)?

What’s with these episcopalians? Are they now the church of death?

Wow, I would hate to be her when God calls her to account for this.

My pretty liberal fiancee just asked “Please tell me she said April Fool’s day after that”.

She was so proud of it she posted it on her blog:
http://ragsdalesermons.blogspot.com/2008/08/our-work-is-not-done.html

Read the comments. They annihilate her.

Here’s just a few...

I’m pro-choice, but abortion is most certainly not a blessing. What a prehistoric perspective!

and you called that a sermon? Christ was not mentionned once!!!!

This is sick. You have a warped mind. Please pray for enlightenment with some true humility concerning this matter.

Abortion is evil and so is your sick ideology. Another thing Kathy, you’re not a “reverend” either—just a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Madam, you are doing the work of the devil! Your words are sick and evil.

Less than a century ago, The Episcopal Church at Lambeth declared that contraception was licit.

Fewer than fifty years ago The Episcopal Church declared the women could be ordained priest and bishop.

Now it is blessing crimes against nature and murdering innocents.

How time flies!

Yeah that’s going to be a tough sell to God on her part, I think.

And I thought my Catholic Church was in bad shape. However, seeing as though Barry the Baby Killer will now be speaking at the Notre Dame commencement, I fear it’s just a matter of time before we have renegade priests giving homilies not too far removed from this sort of madness.

Your first problem is “liberal” in front of “fiancee”.

Don’t envy ya.

Stay strong. I have a bud who had a ‘moderately liberal’ fiancee and he’s stayed on point the last few years, and slowly she has (and yes soemtimes it has been painful to go through) shifted more conservative. It also helps he does his best to live up to his own standards and is a good guy.
