The tragic story of Terri Schiavo has, for most Americans, become a faded memory. But now, thanks to Ken Carpenter and Franklin Springs Family Media, the account of her heart-wrenching ordeal will forever be available to those who believe in the sanctity and value of human life. Narrated by well known Christian author and advocate for the disabled, Joni Eareckson Tada . . .

Give it a rest. Let the woman rest in peace.
Better yet...let’s keep the rats who murdered this woman in cold blood in the spotlight so we NEVER, EVER FORGET. I’m sure Terri would have preferred to live rather than “rest in peace.”
You just don’t get it, which is sad for you and dangerous for the rest of us.
“Give it a rest. Let the woman rest in peace.”
She is ALREADY resting in peace....but this video may avoid the slow torture she went through becoming a reality for another.
What’s that quotation about all we need for evil to win is for good people to do nothing?
It’s a little late to keep this story alive. At best, her tragic story is a reference point to discuss the importance of a living will and be clear about your wishes.
But that’s it.
Learn from it so it doesn’t happen to you or a loved one. Producing another sappy video doesn’t change anything, it only rehashes the story in the hopes of selling a few videos.
You think it’s OK for someone to pick up on this story and try to make a few bucks?
Isn’t that profiting from the dead?
Wow, there’s morals.
For some reason, I doubt this video is very unbiased.
You think this video will explain how the Schindlers tried to profit from her and how much they lied to the media, et al?
No, it won’t.
Terri was PVS and they knew it. Suing for money and stretching this story out as long as they did for maximum exposure has had a good payoff.
They are despicable.
There was a bunch of crap on both sides of this and it needs to go away. It’s over.
There have been many more people who did much better, more important things in their lives who are dead and forgotten.
I have sympathy for this young woman but good grief! I hope people won’t willingly continue to be snookered by this story, all the people involved, and the producers of this video.
If it’s so important to some people, I wonder what you’ve all done since then? Sit around and cry? Be upset?
Or did you come up with some ideas and send those to your congresscritters?
You know, actually do something about it.
Or did you just buy another video and try to convince yourself you really do care about something?
Guess I just have the security to not require such validation.
Let it rest.
Let her rest.
“...lets keep the rats who murdered this woman in cold blood in the spotlight...”
I agree, you wouldn’t do to an animal, what they have done to Terri.
Is it because you know deep inside that Terri was murdered? Brutally? Tortured because they HAD to kill by keeping all water and food away because she was not dying, not even close, and she refused to do so!
May what happened to Teri live on forever.
President Bush gave us one of his finest moments when he tried to help her - flying up from his Texas ranch - breaking a vacation - to sign a bill that was designed to order the courts to review Teri's full case from the get-go. He knew, and I know and I'll bet many others do too, that a full review was Teri's best chance to live out her life with her parents and not in a place designed for the terminally ill...which she was not.
Go read Teri's husbands RULES for Teri while she was incarcerated in a house of death (an ok place, Hospice, for those who are actually dying).
Also-go read about the people that supported her husband's quest to kill her, you might just discover kindred spirits. Always a nice thing.
“Or did you come up with some ideas and send those to your congresscritters?
You know, actually do something about it.”
YES, I have (though it’s really none of your business). I also continue with those actions and I also encourage the dissemination of this video so that we do NOT forget. This video is one of several positive ways to make/keep people aware of the horror of taking the lives of those who are handicapped.
No one is keeping Terri Schiavo from resting. She IS at rest. And I certainly am not being “snookered,” particularly by your cynicism ...nor by your assumptions.
Excellent post. I have read tons of Schiavo material and have always abhorred the posting/using of videos and pictures of her. It seems she was a very private young woman, and I imagine she would have been horrified at having her image used and abused this way. She deserved better.
Terri was the victim of abuse at the hands of her husband, who spent years prifitting financially by her disability and finally, her death, and covering up his cowardly part in her injuries and ultimate death...
