'Holy water' shipment was a date rape drug

NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ont.–A Brooklyn, N.Y., man faces drug charges after a shipment of vials labelled Holy Water turned out to be a powerful date rape drug.

The seizure was made Oct. 16 after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a 50-year-old man after he crossed the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge, officials said yesterday.

The motorist told border officials he was returning home after purchasing religious items in Canada.

Further questioning raised the officers' suspicions and the man was referred for a secondary inspection.

One hundred vials of "Holy Water" were found in his vehicle.

A narcotics detector dog sniffed out 42 bottles that were subsequently sent to a lab for analysis.

Late last week, test reports came back indicating there was nothing holy about the 42 bottles, which actually contained liquid ketamine.

The seizure is a good example of "the extraordinary methods" smugglers will use to bring in narcotics, said Buffalo, N.Y., port director Joseph Wilson.

Charged with importation and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance is Warren Maynard.

Why would anyone need to travel to Canada for Holy Water?

LOL, I was on a Federal Grand Jury once, it was amazing the stories they came up with and the ruses they tried.

I make my own holy water.

I just take regular tap water and boil the hell out of it.

What a hoax. Holy water is regular distilled water that is blessed by a special blessing from the priest. Would not be shipped into the U. S.

**I just take regular tap water and boil the hell out of it.**

It still needs to be blessed by a priest.

Is the point to this thread being posted supposed to be that the Catholic Church was in some sort of collusion with this numbskull, or...something else? if something else...what, exactly?

The point of this is thread is that there are “numbskulls” out there.

Ketamine is used on people as well. Sometimes legally.

True enough. Funny, though, how hard it seems to be for you to find numbskulls who do not have the aura, or penumbra, or shadow or "something" of the Catholic Church (explicitly stated or left by way of implication) for the very casual reader who merely skims the article to come away with by way of association.

Sorry. No sale here. Color me skeptical in finding a useful purpose to even posting this. If anything, this type of thing tends to make all religion, all Christianity (even your brand) look bad. Many come here to scoff. You simply abet their motives.

Petty, vicious anti-Catholic fetishism continues apace.
