That is ironic. Much of that book is still to be fulfilled prophecy.
The prayer is directed towards God, acknowledging what I am witnessing here on FR. It is a prayer recognizing our nation’s culpability and our need that he save our future President. Nothing more.
Includes how to pray for our leaders and president-elect around the 3:00 mark.
Please add me to your ping list.
Forgive our nation for violating the gift of Liberty that you have bestowed upon us and using that gift to choose as a leader a man who is, right now, firmly committed to the culture of death by which we, as a nation have deprived our posterity of the blessings of liberty by systematically aborting those to whom you granted the gift of life and whom we, as a nation chose to terminate.
Lord please find it in your mercy to change our hearts and minds and to turn the nation and our president elect back towards you that we can then repent of our national sin and begin to restore the blessings that we have so callously taken for granted and so callously deprived our posterity of.
Forgive us Lord. Find it in your heart to grant us mercy and to continue to be longsuffering towards us, though we, as a nation, deserve neither mercy nor longsuffering.
We acknowledge your power to change the heart of our leader as you can change the course of mighty rivers. That is our fervent prayer. Change his heart and change ours as well.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
THANKS.
That was excellent, Jen. Thank you for posting it. Consider yourself added.
Amen.
I have been contemplating the election results and what our response as Christians should be. I found the story of Saul and David to be helpful. Saul was an evil ruler, but David recognized that Saul had been appointed by God. Saul persecuted David, but David did not seek to harm or defeat Saul. David knew he would be exalted in God's time. He waited for God to remove Saul. And what did David do while waiting? Well, he hid out. He fled from Saul. While not directly assaulting Saul, David built his own army, and fought his own battles. Small at first and then as his army grew in strength, he defeated more and more of his enemies. Even when he had opportunity to kill Saul, he withheld his hand.
So what are we to do? I believe we pray for the salvation of Barak. We, as the video said, pray that we will not be harmed by any evil perpetuated by Obama. We don't battle him directly. We go about fighting the battles nearby. Small at first. Neighborhood crime. Get on city councils, county commissions, run for sheriff etc. Then larger, state legislature and governorships. Don't rail against Barak, but work our way up the chain. Build our own schools, health clinics and strengthen our churches. In God's time, he will bring down evil men.
Lord, may we be ready when it's time.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I’m having a difficult time praying for our president elect. My prayers are along the lines of the imprecatory psalms right now but I do ask for salvation for Obama and for God to build a hedge of protection around His children as His judgment falls upon our nation.
May it be, Merciful Father, that the heart of our President-Elect would be pierced by the conviction of the Holy Spirit ... may he see his need of the Savior's redeeming grace. Draw him early, O Lord, that righteous rule might yet come upon the land.
May it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray, Amen ...
