Picture: St. Louis Claims First *Pregnant* Catholic Priest (Part 2 of 2) (Eye shield alert!)
American Papist ^ | October 30, 2008 | Thomas Peters

RiverFrontTimes:

"A little over a year ago, 26-year-old Jessica Rowley shattered the stained-glass ceiling, so to speak, by being ordained a Catholic priest. Now the St. Louisan is on the verge of giving birth to her first child, and a Washington, D.C.-based group that advocates for women’s ordination says that makes Rowley the world’s first pregnant Catholic priest."

Her husband is a United Church of Christ minister. So which church will the baby be baptized in?

"That's a good question," says Rowley, with a laugh. "It's a topic of conversation in our home a lot. We're going to baptize him in both churches."

Why, of course! Why didn't I think of that? I'm so narrow-minded with my solutions sometimes....

Women priests are an impossibility in the Catholic Church. I guess she could wear those vestments to go trick or treating though.

Isn’t it funny how these articles accept these women at their words and identify them as Catholic priests? I guess it doesn’t matter that it’s a sacramental impossibility, but let’s not let scripture, canon law and the Catechism get in the way of our agendas...

It's interesting how the media will twist and turn, trying to explain that an ACORN employee's fraud was not actually approved by ACORN and is therefore not really chargeable to ACORN - yet at the same time they will say that a woman is a Catholic priest - despite the facts that (1) the Catholic Church cannot and does not ordain women, (2) the supposed ordainer is not a recognized as a member of the Catholic Church, (3) the supposed ordination was forbidden by the Catholic Church, (4) the supposed ordinand is not recognized as a member of the Catholic Church.

Sts. Clare & Francis shares a common theology and liturgical tradition with the Roman Catholic Church. We are an independent faith community in that we are not under the jurisdiction of the Pope nor are we subject to the guidelines of the Roman Catholic Church. What a dope this faux-priestess is. “We’re going to baptize him in both churches.”

From the Nicene Creed: “We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins.”

Even if she baptized the baby in her husband’s church, it would also be valid in the Catholic Church.

She must be an ex-nun.

“Sts. Clare & Francis shares a common theology and liturgical tradition with the Roman Catholic Church. We are an independent faith community in that we are not under the jurisdiction of the Pope nor are we subject to the guidelines of the Roman Catholic Church.”

Therefore, she is not a Catholic priest.

Please excuse me while I control my gag reflex.

She can call herself a Catholic priest. She can call herself the Queen of England, for that matter, but that won't make it so.

I'm reminded of Abraham Lincoln's question: "How many legs does a dog have, if you call the tail a leg?" Answer: "Four. Calling the tail a leg doesn't make it one."

She can call herself anything she wants.

These Womyn Priests are “ordained” in churches other than the Catholic Church. They have no authority to do so. She has self Ex-communicated. These “ordinations” are as real as playing checkers and saying “I’m a King now, crown me”.
