On the 20th and 21st, last week, Ryan and I drove down to Salt Lake City in Utah to stay with Bill McKeever of mrm.org. Bill, with several of his friends, along with Ryan and I, attended the Manti pageant. It is an event were Mormons gather to watch a pageant put on by the Mormon church. Basically, it is a public play where actors recount the means by which the "gospel was restored." I watched it and it is a blatant misrepresentation of the state of the Christian church in the early 1800s. The play represents Christianity as a mass of churches that do nothing but contradict each other while each one claims to be the only true church. This, of course, is not how it was but this is how the Mormons represent Christianity. It is a straw man, a false representation of the facts.
Because it is an annual event, a lot of Christians go there to witness. So picture this. 10,000 to 15,000 people milling around in a half mile by half-mile area were Mormons and Christians are interacting, arguing, debating. Both Ryan and I spoke with several Mormons over the two nights that we were there. We got to share the Gospel many times. One of the Christians at Manti named Aaron, who works with Bill McKeever, was standing on a small pedestal and preaching the gospel. A small crowd gathered around him to listen. As he would gather the crowd, a lot of Christians would gather as well and listen to the comments made by the Mormons. Then, they would start conversations with the individual Mormons and try to witness to them and present them the truth. As you can imagine, a lot of the conversations were heated but most of them were quite polite.
At one point while Aaron was preaching a young teenager approached Aaron and threw a cup of water on him. Aaron reacted in the most gracious manner possible. He called the young man back and gave him five dollars. The young man accepted it and then Aaron used the altercation as an illustration to talk about Grace, getting what you do not deserve. It was great!
Here's something that was quite interesting. There were bathrooms on private property attached to the street in Manti where people were milling around. Since it was a public event, the bathrooms were open to everyone. However, at one point the Mormons with the help of security and the police said that the Christians could not use the bathrooms. You might ask how they could tell the difference. Apparently the Mormons in security had been watching the Christians who kept starting conversations in the street near the bathrooms. As the night wore on and some of the Christians tried to use the facilities, the security and police turned them away. So, we call this bladdergate. Anyway, the Mormons did not come off looking too good and on Saturday night there was no such restriction.
***Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah! Jesus anointed that Prophet and Seer. Kings shall extol him, and nations revere.***
Ouch! Ouch! My ears are bleeding! My eyes are fogging up!
Not exactly acknowledging the Majesty of Jesus, the Savior, the Lamb of God, the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, is it ???
I wonder if the singers and listeners to that blasphemeous tripe get a burning sensation in their gut ????
Kind of a "personal" accusation, isn't that?
I posted a response to the post Anyone else notice that there are many posts here at FR that say the Mormons should stay away from other church's events because it is impolite to witness at these events. asking if THIS were the type of post you meant...perhaps you can furnish other examples.
It's not up to ME to excuse the actions of the mormon missionaries..especially when they are inexcusable.
"Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven! Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain. Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren; Death cannot conquer the hero again."
The song speaks for itself and the Smith-worship of the mormons. "Death cannot conquer the hero again, 'cause he's mingling with the OTHER gods of their religion. MY opinion is that none of THESE gods are comparable to the Christian God and His Son, Jesus....although it sure seems like mormon opinion differs.

Again, you changed the subject by leaving out part of what was said.
Remember, I asked you if the two “Christian” had been disciplined by there leaders, that was what you left out both this time and the time before.
what you left out.
“Yep and God's earthly leaders of His Church worked to correct the unkindness
The LDS Church went on to say it holds its missionaries to the highest standards and that it plans to discipline those responsible for the incident
As normal, you left out an important part of the truth.
Were the two christians corrected by any leaders?
Did there leaders agree?
Do they have any leaders beside there own scholarly studies?
I was there and had to suffer the so-called “Christians” crashing, bullying and taking up space. I hear that in previous years the anti Mormons were much more mean spirited. This time, they were just in the way and acting downright silly. Some of them dragged their own children to the site to watch their elders harass and bully the Mormons. Blood sport. I heard one of your group yell: “Let’s go get ‘em!” Taking up space in the campground where we stayed.
Well, if you want to waste your time demeaning Mormons, condemning Mormons to hell, and making a complete nuisance out of yourselves, be my guest. But may I suggest that you leave your poor innocent little children at home?
See you this summer. Can’t wait to worship my Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered and died for me to save me from my sins. And to fellowship with my Brothers and Sisters in the Lord. Amen.
I attended this pageant for the first time and was absolutely blown away. It was so beautiful and wonderful. I heard about a family a few years ago who happened to be driving through town at the time when the Angel was all lit up and the father pulled over, got down on his knees and was sure Jesus was coming back with the announcement of an Angel. How do they get the Angel to sparkle like that, way up high. We were impressed with the sound system, the lighting, the actors! What a production. Quite miraculous. We encountered these anti Mormons - seems they come every year to try to disrupt and disturb. How very sad. They also take up space in the campgrounds. They seem to enjoy harassing Mormons. How very sad for them. Most of us just ignore them; we feel sorry for them, that they have nothing better to do. It is sad that they cannot find it in their hearts to appreciate what the early Mormon pioneers went through. It is sad that they cannot appreciate the pageantry and great sacrifice of all the volunteers. It is sad that they pooh pooh our love for the Savior and Heavenly Father and break the heart of the Holy Spirit with their contention and slander.
Can you make it this summer? I’ll be looking for you.
How did you manage to dig up this old thread? fproy2222 was cast into FR's Outer Darkness back in 2009, when he was caught red-handed supporting an effort to bankrupt Free Republic. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?
From the headline, I thought this was all about some foo'ball playuh dude with a fake girlfriend.
