This is a funny article--typical of a British (anti-Papist) newspaper. A dissident theologian of the withered up old guard attacks the Pope and it's news? What's next? Maybe this...

The article only mentions ONE - the usual suspect, Hans Küng, who is still sore about being stripped of his privileges for promoting heresy.
The Telegraph just wishes that it were multiple "senior theologians".
The hatred of the news media for the Church is so dull and predictable! Too bad some folks actually believe them.

What a ridiculous and misleading headline! It sounds as if open war has broken out in the Church and a group of prominent theologians has mutinied.
It's just 'effin' Kung.......... again!
But why am I not surprised? It's the Daily Torygraph, the mouthpiece for Britain's anti-Catholic establishment.

I recall a tale from Vatican II in which Kung and Schillebeecx boasted that this time the reformers would achieve their revolution within the Church as opposed to outside the Church as had their 16th century predecessors. Sorry Hans! You’re just another heretic! Things haven’t worked out as planned!

The old liberation theology priests of the left are pissed that they lost. Too bad, so sad. Cafeteria Catholicism has a stake pointed at its heart. Benedict needs to push it through.

Hans Kueng, ho hum... Actually, I think we only need look at the Episcopal Church today to see where the Catholic Church would be today if people like Kueng had their way with unfettered “liberalization” of Catholic doctrine and polity. I’m glad that the Rock of Peter has held back the tide, so to speak, of the liberal Zeitgeist.

Hans who?
Oh, that Hans! A passé theologian that no one reads anymore. Yep. Behold the sound of a mouse roaring.

The article is a bit misleading as I was sure the theology of Hans Kung has been condemned by the CDF. Which means he is not one of Catholicism's leading theologians. He is one of the leading dissidents.

Hangs Kung is so passe! Tres 20th century. Progressives, you’ve lost the battle, OK? You’re regressing not progressing. It’s over, 1968 was almost two generations ago, your aging movement is failing, even Cardinal Mahony has been charmed by Benedict! So give up and get over it already. Embrace the True Church or get out, you’re not going to mold Her to your weird version of truth.

“Rome had failed to follow the path of liberalisation set out by the Vatican II council in 1965.”
The “liberalisation” he speaks of is nothing more or less than theological leftism. All leftism is of and from Satan.
