17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the otherThis is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, Never mind, all is wellI am well enough off. I then said to my mother, I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.

Not wife, first wife. How many did he have all told?
As another note I didn't realize that the South Park episode about LDS was so accurate.
Thanx so much for the ping. Now to follow along ... I commend ye who stand against this demonic cult daily. Thanks be to God that He has laid this work upon the hearts of some.
Present count is 11 were married to other living men when Joe ‘took them’ in plural marriage.
Frightening to see the demon so openly active! Tells me we’re definitely in the last days. But then, I’m a nobody.
Firm count of 33, possibly as many as 52 if one merely counts likely consorts. [Kind of like concubines, I suppose, except the LDS geneologies research has tried to ‘legitimize’ some of the ‘concubines’.
I think Resty will want to watch this; so see can DOCUMENT each place the P's are UNTRUE.

Unfettered access to a variety of females suitable for breeding is every heterosexual male's fantasy, and Smith and his ilk brought it to life. I would argue that any other motive behind the founding of Mormonism runs a distant second to this one.
The Tanners have always done good work. I was sorry to hear about Jerald Tanner’s death recently.
TO ALL WHO WANT TO HELP US TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT CHRIST AND HOW HE GUIDES HIS PEOPLE ON EARTH.
If this thread is like most others that have anything to do with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or as we are more often called, the Mormons, it will soon be taken over by those who, for reasons of their own, choose to put down my Church, and those of us who worship with it.
We find no problem with people who really want to talk to us about converting to their religion, we spend a lot of time doing it ourselves.
What we find offensive is when people leave out part of the truth to make a half-true lie , or when some one renames something, that we find important or sacred, so it sounds like gutter talk.
I do not know how to tell the difference all the time. There are some Handles that keep showing up, and they are easy to spot. Sometimes, though, I have given a hard and not so kind response to some who honestly care for us and our salvation.
Because of these people, FR is not a good place to talk about the differences in the different denomination.
Thanks for your time,
fred

I have seen too many item by item rebuttals to the Tanner's work to believe what she is saying.
LOL!
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb!
Wow. I listened to the entire interview. I knew that Joe Smith was a polygamist but I did not know that some of these extra wives were already married. Correct me if I am wrong but that’s not polygamy that’s adultery.
And what’s the deal with Joe saying he should be allowed to marry the other church leadership wives.
What a freaking pervert Joe was.
As another note I didn’t realize that the South Park episode about LDS was so accurate.

Have you taken the time to study what has been said about this view of Tanner’s from the LDS side?
