GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senator Barack Obama has told an audience that although he believes Christ died for his sins, those who reject that teaching can also be children of God.
During a campaign stop yesterday in Greensboro, North Carolina, Senator Obama told the audience that he believes he "can have everlasting life" because Jesus Christ died for his sins. But he then told a questioner that he believes Jews and Muslims who live moral lives are just as much "children of God" as he is. (listen to audio clip)
The Illinois Democrat added that his late mother didn't share his faith but was a kind and generous person, so he's "sure she's in heaven." (listen to audio clip)
(snip)
In his life and in his politics, Obama said he asks himself, "How can I apply Jesus's teachings in a very concrete way?"
Obama's religious beliefs have been put in the spotlight over recent revelations about his former pastor. Videotapes of some of Pastor Jeremiah Wright's sermons have been described as being racist and anti-America.
Yesterday, the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination for president referred to those sermon remarks as being "stupid," but he continues to reject suggestions that he should have left the church because of that kind of preaching from his pastor.
Proof that he’s not a Christian.
Barack may be trying to pass himself off as a Christian but, in my book, he's a Muslim.
Well, the least it proves is that he puts his politics before his faith.
Yes, Christians who ARE Christians would profess that Christ is the only way to salvation.

Truth is if he's asking himself how he can follow the teachings of Jesus and doesn't recognize that Jesus said the only way to the Father was through Him, then Barack knows not of what he speaks.
Yes. He's an "Ecumenical christian", ie. all ways lead to God.
Unfortunately, too many Americans believe this crap!
He isn't a muslim either.. neither is Farrakand..
They are spiritual whores like most people..
Yep. Many people who identify themselves as Christian will say that there’s more than one way to heaven. For example, Joel Osteen said the same thing.
Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures" (I Cor 15:3).
Barack evidently does not understand that to reject this teaching is a rejection of one of the basic tenets of Christianity. Guess he's one of those touchy-feely, if it feels good do it Christians.
There, fixed it for ya! :)
1000% correct
“those who reject that teaching can also be children of God.”
Ooooooo, the Lord’s not going to like that one iota.
You are so correct. Obama is free to have the faith he wishes, but the faith belief he has expressed is NOT Christian. What part of “I am THE way and THE truth and THE life, and no one comes to the Father BUT BY ME” does Obama not believe?
for the modern marxist, religion is a convenient tool, nothing more
exactly
I’ve just had a thought, (I know, but it’s tough on a Friday). Now I’ll be thinking about this all weekend. The Jews were (are) called the children of God and they don’t believe Christ died for their sins. Just sayin’... So maybe he is just trying to play with the semantics here.
IMHO, I don't think he's that smart.
