They’re going to sing “Soon and very sooon, We’re going to see the king” as the closing hymn every week until Christmas, and I am leaving on the first “Soon” every week until Christmas.
For Megachurches, it would be “Shall we Gather By the Food Court”.
For everyone else, “Louie, Lousie”.
Dern typos!
I’ve always enjoyed the ‘Pater Noster’ chanted in the Latin myself...
I vote for all the 7-11 hymns. You know, 7 words sung 11 times... :>)
Depends on the tune. I’ve sung a choir version that is beautiful.
I dislike most praise music. Repetative and melodiously boring, most of it.
JMO.
Which Hymn Do you Wish was Banned From Church?
Almost everything published since 1970 that's in the Celebration Hymanl. Get rid of the "worship sequences" too.
that’s hilarious!
on the topic of banned church hymns....got to go with Lord of the Dance. Not cool....
Ugh, I hate “Lord of the Dance.” I don’t mind “Simple Gifts,” when I’m in an Americana mood, but “Lord of the Dance” stinks.
My parish, for all its Redneck Evangelical Party Barn atmosphere, has never used “Lord of the Dance”!
Majesty can be overdone and done poorly.
But it’s still a wonderful son and Jack Hayford did a good job on it as he has on several.
You sound like Michael criticizing King David dancing before the Ark.
Am I supposed to be surprised?
Way off base. See these links:

who was the composer?
Read the words.
Very little about God or Christ’s work.
Not surprised you like it at all.
Don’t recall saying I liked it.
Likely won’t get to it anytime soon.
Just sounded like offense was taken at dancing . . . something that CAN be fitting and Spirit led.
IF ofense is taken at something Holy Spirit is leading, that’s troubling.
Depends on what you consider a hymn. I know a lot of “Gospel music” that’s truly terrible from a musical perspective, however well-intentioned. Some of it is beautiful however.
Likely wont get to it anytime soon.

Translation: I don't know anything about the song, don't care to know the song, but that won't stop me from bashing Gamecock's faith, which I really don't know either.
“Louie, Louise”
Episcopalian?
La-la-la-la-la-LOLA!
