Oh good lord. I am not embarrassed why should I be I am not LDS. Friends and family, you keep forgetting the family part. (Family generational LDS and many bishops).
I think I said that I went to a ward for a year when I was living with my uncle when I was in college and there never was a mention of the Bible, My friends and family (don’t forget that part) know very little about the Bible. I realize you may think I am not truthful here but that is not my problem, is it?

I actually do not think I portrayed myself as a Bible scholar, I simply said friends and family (remember that part) who I know are LDS not not know much or anything about the Bible.

I am intrigued when you ask about my “take”, my take about what?
Trying to divert from what?

As a side note I know allot about many things, a little about allot things and nothing about some stuff.

As I said, I can’t believe that your family & friends go to church much.

I’m sorry on the other issue, I wasn’t very clear. I forgot to include the previous quote. I wanted your take on Ezekiel 37. I know what my take is. I’m interested in what yours is. Remember, your assertion is that we don’t know much about the bible. Therefore, I’m interested in your take. I’m sure many would be interested in knowing what that scripture is talking about. Surely “Christians” have studied & talked about what it means.

Tell me what you think because it is an issue for you, instead of trying to be so cryptic. Come get real, tell people what you believe if its important for you that they know. Stop trying to be smart by half.
In brief for me it does NOT mean LDS is legitimate.

Discuss the issues all you want but do NOT make it personal.

Would you please explain - personal.
Asking question or using the phrase I do not think LDS is legitimate? I can not change a behavior unless I know what I am supposed to change. Since I have be called stupid, idiotic and worthless over the years, I really would like to find out what personal means.

Is this the portion of Ez 37 to which you try querying?...

Ez 37

16

Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions:

17

And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

18

And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

19

Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

20

And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

21

And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

22

And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

23

Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

24

And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

25

And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

26

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

27

My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

28

And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

Attributing motives and otherwise reading minds of other Freepers are "making it personal."

In the above post you said "Stop trying to be smart by half." which was making it personal.

I was truly seeking your views but I also must frankly admit I didn’t believe you could answer it. To that extent I must apologize b/c this has become contentious. I get a little riled up when false claims are made. My intent was not to demean but rather to engage in meaningful dialog. I was doomed for failure along those lines & knew better. Sorry. Have a good night my friend.

Is the following ‘making it personal’? ... “Do you realize how you embarrass yourself when you make such errant claims?” Reno232

Actually, verses 16-20. But I like those you quoted as well. Fascinating isn’t it. What’s your take on 16-20? Time for bed. Maybe tomorrow.

I would have posted a warning on that even though it is a question per se - because the purpose of the guideline is to avoid flame wars by sticking to the issues and not making it personal.

Oh, and another thing LDS meetinghouse go to church they go to ward.

Actually we go to meeting house another name for Church and wards is another name for meetinghouse

meet·ing·house(n.
A building used for public meetings and especially for Protestant or Quaker religious services.

Wards
The term "ward" in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is used to describe a congregation. Wards are usually made up of between 300-350 members (if there are too few members for a ward, the congregation is known as a "branch") all of whom live within a certain geographic area. Wards are based on where you live, and unlike many other religions, members are discouraged from choosing the ward they like best and are encouraged to attend the ward whose boundaries they live within.

21 and 22 answer your question. Text without context is pretext ... the Bible is usually its own best commentary.

Explain to me how it answers it. They seem to be 2 different issues. Tell me what you feel the context is.

I think it has to do with strengthening the community. I think reading about working in the Lord vineyard might shed light on that!

Ok, I am baffled by your statement.
Lets see, saying I am not embarrassed
Family and friends are LDS and know little if any of the Bible (unsure why this bothers you, its a truism, it says nothing about you, it speaks of them)
Explain why this is bigotry and intolerance?
