Father Amorth calls them "my protectors," adding that "the more recent addition of John Paul's has been especially effective and helpful." "The demons become very agitated at his presence,

I have read a couple of Father Gabriele Amorth’s books....I had NO idea he was in his 80s. One of his books spoke of one of JP2’s exorcisms. The books were fascinating.

Very interesting article. This subject is one I am both drawn to and repelled by.

In related news, Lamer Devil, aka “allah,” gets its panties in a knot over prayers in pig latin.

"The devil is happy with the near-disappearance of Latin," said the bishop.

The aspect of the disappearance of the proper Litergy, rather than the disappearance of the Latin lanquage itself is probably the greatest happiness.

A Priest, converted from ECUSA, once told Neuhaus that the thing he missed most in Catholic Churchs today was the litergy in english. He was, of course, referring to the Book of Common Prayer as compared the the US Catholic liturgical desert, LOL

Hmmm...
Devil hates Latin.
Bishops hate Latin.

Nah, there couldn’t be any connection. It’s just a coincidence.

:-)

Why are you laughing about this article? It is very serious business.

Or are you saying it is OK for the devil to roam the earth and to possess souls without the possibility of exorcism?

Or are you just laughing at Catholicism?

“Love one another” Christ’s words!

We are not dualists with competing gods.

Satan is a subject of God and he and His minions can do nothing without the permission of God.

But that aside the idea that he “hates” latin “ more than other languages is silly .

The Bible tells us he hates and is subject to the NAME OF JESUS.

Jesus and the apostles did not speak latin and yet they managed to have authority over them.

Probably because the Devil doesn't understand Latin.

So, the Devil isn't a fallen angel? He doesn't have a supernatural intellect?

I don't know where you got this thing about Mary defeating Satan, meaning past tense. The Devil is still "prowling about the world, seeking the ruin of souls."

Sicut déficit fumus, deficiant: sicut fluit cera a fácie ignis, sic péreant peccatóres a fácie Dei.

Imperat tibi excélsa Dei Génetrix Virgo Maria +, quæ superbíssimum caput tuum a primo instánti immaculátæ suæ Conceptiónis in sua humilitáte contrivit.

I. Dómine, exaúdi oratiónem meam.
A. Et clamor meus ad te véniat.
B. Dóminus vobíscum.
C. Et cum spíritu tuo.

Orémus Oratio

Deus cæli, Deus terræ, Deus Angelórum, Deus Archangelórum, Deus Patriarchárum, Deus Prophetárum, Deus Apostolórum, Deus Mártyrum, Deus Confessórum, Deus Virginum, Deus qui potestátem habes donáre vitam post mortem, réquiem post labórem: quia not est Deus præter te, nec esse potest nisi tu, créator ómnium visibílium et invisibílium, cujus regni non erit finis: humíliter majestati glóriæ tuæ suplicámus, ut ab omni infernálium spirítuum potestáte, láqueo deceptióne et nequítia nos poténter liberáre, et incólumes custodíre dignéris. Per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
Amen.

Ab insídiis diáboli, libera nos, Dómine.

Ut Ecclésiam tuam secúra tibi fácias libertáte servire, te rogámus, audi nos.

Ut inimícus sanctæ Ecclésiae humiliáre dignéris, te rogámus, audi nos.

Et aspergatur locus aqua benedicta. +

Why would God "need" Satan when Man fits the bill so well?
