God calls the shots. Early Christians would welcome 'the sooner the better' option. I think we have learned how to love the world since then.
So . . .
let me get this as straight as the crooked pseudo "logic" will allow . . .
Your construction on assumed, pretend reality is that Paul missed it by many country miles and was wholesale wrong in his scripting of the NT in many places.
Nevertheless, Protesties should be hauled up short on 286 of Paul's words just because RC's think it's convenient and fun to do.
Did I get that right?

I'm sure St Paul is getting a lot of laughs with that one in Heaven . . . unless they're too stunned at the incredulity of it.
Ohhhhhh, that's rich. Sooooooooo cute.
LOL

When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul." -- Psalms 94:17-19"Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
LOLOL.
Oh, that's right . . . how could I forget.
If anyone early or late
is not 1,110% identical with the theology in your mirror, then they are 1,110% gnostic apostates etc. etc. etc. etc. and etc.
LOL.
Thx Thx.
For some things, GTTM is just too anemic.
I Know the Textus Receptus isn't Very Popular Anymore, but it is my Favorite because our Lord has Used Translations of it to Bless Generations of His Beloved Children.
Now Unto the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the Only Wise God,
Be Honor and Glory Forever and Ever, amen. (1Tim.1:17)
Thank you. Of course, we do. My Bible has Isa 55:8-9 that says For "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts".
With all do respect to the Apostle, our minds are not those of Christ, as I am sure +Paul did not mean it that way.
He used a quote from Septuagint, Isaiah 40, which, in context, reads like this:
Obviosuly, Paul used it in a different context, attaching a different meaning to it.
There is nothing in the original (Isaiah) that would suggest we have the mind of God.
But what is REALLY fascinating, the Jewish (Hebrew) bible doesn't even have the word 'mind' in verse 13!
It says "Who meted [measured] the spirit of the Lord, and His adviser who informs Him?"
So, now not only is Paul quoting from a different Scripture (Septuagint OT) while you read the Hebrew version, and not only is the conext of the quote completely different of 1 Cor 2:16, but your version doesn't even have the word "mind" in it.
Isn't reading Scriptures with a mind more fun?
I have non doubt that our Lord doesn't need anyone's translation to bless His Chirldren. TR is based on two 12th century Greek texts of dubious quality.
You are so very amusing.
I Agree with you that He doesn't Need it; He just Decreed to Use it, because it was His Sovereign Will to Do So.
The lack of respect for others beliefs is evident. You have accomplished your goals.
I know there are 800+ posts but I just browsed the first few comments and saw this one:
"Catholic and Protestant Bibles: What is the Difference?
Ours get read?"
I'm Catholic and read my Bible but this made me laugh out loud!! :o)
Christ decreed Textus Receptus? When did He do that?
We try and carry the gospel to everyone, even your sect that has drifted so far away.
Whatever to allow a dodging of the issues! LOL.

Well put. imho.
INDEED.
And in South and Central America--they've been doing it rather successfully.
The God who's real and moves dramatically in the affairs of His children wins hands down over fossilized edifice and dry husk traditions every time.
I was raised Roman Catholic, dropped away from the Catholic Church and became Methodist. Since then I became disillusioned with "mainstream" Protestant Churches - Episcopalian, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran and some Baptists. They have become diluted with secular humanism, moral relativism and beliefs that stray from those of their own founding fathers.
But the problem is not so much with the individuals as the institutions. Even the Catholic Church as an institution has had problems. Even the Jewish Faith has problems keeping its followers orthodox. We all have problems.
But the real problem is that we as a cultural group are driffting away from basic scriptures and the foundation principles of Christianity - principles which all Christians originally followed but have become dliuted by cultural and moral relativism, secular humanism and poltical correctness.
Does God really care what date we celebrate Easter and Christmas? Does he care what secondary books we choose to include in our sacred books or not? Does he care if our rituals are in Greek, or Aramaic, or Latin or Old Church Slavonic? I don't think so.
I think Christians of all faith have FAR more in common with each other - and with Judaism - than we do with any other belief systems and more than we have differences.
Orthodox Jews and Christians both have their roots in the Old Testament. Jews believe the Messiah is coming. We believe He has come and will come again.
And that commonality is being threatened by a dangerous aggressive menace that should be dealt with in unison by us all as we would treat a man-eating tiger.
