Whole lot of hearing the WORD required over and over, not just a few scriptures but the Word, like John says John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The beginning starts in Genesis and the Word does not end until Revelation, so salvation is a first step in believing in God.
I have Been Saved...
Romans For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen, is not hope. For what a man seeth, why doth he hope for?
I am being saved
Phil Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.
I will be saved
MT...And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.
GOODMORNING BAC,
WHEN AND WHERE?
HINT - TE TELESTAI!
PRAYERS FOR A BLESSED NEW YEAR!
Persevere unto the end 'of what'???
of your life
Good morning to you, brother
One of the hardest things we have to learn as humans is how to receive a gift, especially a gift as magnificent as salvation. So often I hear people comment on their "unworthiness" and then grumble about accepting God's gift of eternity. Well of course we are all unworthy (Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one), which makes the gift all the more sweet.
I pray for humble hearts to just believe and receive.
Thanks again for brightening my morning. Maranatha Lord Jesus!
WHEN AND WHERE WERE YOU SAVED?
HINT IN GREEK THIS TIME - TELEO!
Paragraphs are our FRiends. Like this: < p >
Ist (Pope) Peter 3
Because Christ also died once for our sins, the just for the unjust: that he might offer us to God, being put to death indeed in the flesh, but enlivened in the spirit, In which also coming he preached to those spirits that were in prison: Which had been some time incredulous, when they waited for the patience of God in the days of Noe, when the ark was a building: wherein a few, that is, eight souls, were saved by water. Whereunto baptism being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
*My Salvation began in VT where I was Baptised...
However, I could fall away, like many others have before
"However, I could fall away, like many others have before."
Exactly--that's my problem with people running around saying "I am saved". Yes, you are, possibly, if you died right this second. Fortunately or unfortunately, you have to live a long life and you could become "unsaved" by sinning egregiously and not asking for God's forgiveness. Dying in that state will not put you very close to God in the next life.
"If I knew God I'd be Him." I hope so.
Paragraphs, please. Won't read it otherwise.
could someone save that article from the bad formatting?
Romans 11...See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
1 Cor 10...Wherefore he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall.
Heb 6....For it is impossible for those who were once illuminated, have tasted also the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Have moreover tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, And are fallen away: to be renewed again to penance, crucifying again to themselves the Son of God, and making him a mockery.
Heb 10....For if we sin wilfully after having the knowledge of the truth, there is now left no sacrifice for sins, But a certain dreadful expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire which shall consume the adversaries.
HOW DO YOU INTERPRET THESE VERSES RELATIVE TO SALVATION?
1Co 11:25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
Joh 17:12 "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
Joh 18:9 that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, "Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.
Joh 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
GODSPEED!
Heb 10....For if we sin wilfully after having the knowledge of the truth, there is now left no sacrifice for sins, But a certain dreadful expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire which shall consume the adversaries.
These are pretty straight-forward verses...As you can see, once you lose your salvation, you can't get it back...And make no mistake...There is no distinction between a venial or mortal sin...If you have 'borrowed' a pencil and didn't give it back, or you have a habit of over eating, you're doomed...
And if you don't believe that, you can't claim you believe the bible...
God don't make no mudpies.
Phl 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:
God is the authur and finisher of our faith. He would not be sovereign if once he brought you to faith through his Grace he allowed you to be lost.
>1 Cor 10...Wherefore he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall.<
You need to read this chapter for context. It in no way refers to loosing ones salvation. It is actually a warning that Christians are still subject to sins of the flesh and should guard against conceit.
You should have read all of Hebrews Chapter 6.
Hbr 6:19 Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
We have a hope that will endureth until we see the father(He resides behind the Veil)
