“The Catholic Church is becoming a complicated diverse community,”

Becoming? What a goober Mr. Charme' is! She has been called a UNIVERSAL Church for two thousand years!

I understand the Abp. In Moon, he is following the Messiah.

Were he to remain Catholic, he'd have to be obedient to just the Vicar of Christ

I'm an Orthodox Christian and beleive married clergy is useful to the church, however this guy is no renegade he's a defrocked heretic, who has rejected the will of his ruling bishops and embraced schism.

"In 2001, Moon chose a South Korean wife for Milingo, and married the couple in one of his mass wedding ceremonies."

This represents apostasy. Not schism. Not heresy, but apostasy. He has received a "sacrament" from a non-Christian pagan. Although he initially repented of it, he seems to have gone back to it.

I'm not sure that an apostate bishop any longer intends to do what the Church does. I wonder about the validity of the ordinations and consecrations he performs.

We are a new organization.

Nothing new about this group. They are no different from the other catholics who disagreed with the Vatican over the centuries and also left. As we are reminded in the Book of Ecclesiastes - "Everything old is new again".

A Clifton resident and coordinator for Married Priests Now, Bishop Dairo Ferrabolli, is sanguine about the Vatican’s rejection. “We are Catholic. If the Vatican doesn’t want to recognize us, it’s OK,” he said.

Bzzzzt. Oh, no, that's incorrect. I'm sorry. We have some lovely parting gifts for you, though. Here's a pitchfork and a little red suit.

Considering the number of followers this apostate has, he seems to be vying for the title heresiarch. It's been a long time since we've gotten to whip that one out...

"Ex-Bishop," not "Renegade Bishop."

“We are Catholic. If the Vatican doesn’t want to recognize us, it’s OK,”

IOW: We call ourselves Catholics. The Vatican doesn't recognize us as Catholics. But we are Catholics.

Contradictory premises.

Monsignor Robert Wister, a professor of church history at Seton Hall University, said Milingo’s support for married clergy “is not the answer to the priest shortage.”

Let's see:

* a 70-something Zambian Archbishop vowed to celibacy

* with a long history of being a TOTAL NUT CASE

* marries a 40-something Korean acupuncturist

* chosen for him

* by Sun Myung Moon

* who performs their marriage in a mass cult gathering

and he's NOT the answer?

DUH!

Good thinking, Monsignor!

Milingo is such a total nutcase you couldn't make his life story up,

you can't take him seriously,

and - as the Holy Father has made quite clear - NOTHING he does involving the Sacrament of Holy Orders could possibly be valid.

In fact, it must be awfully difficult to perform the laying on of hands when you're in a straight-jacket.

This guy "married" after he was consecrated a bishop, which is not allowed in Orthodoxy.

We don't have married bishops for the most part. I was commenting more on his ordaining priests. Eitherway he's a schismatic, and has chosen to separate himself from the church.

As far as I know, there are now Orthodox married bishops. Married men can become priests, but priests cannot get married.
