I think the title is more accurate than the first sentence of the article.
"Change" (or more accurately "the failure to change") is responsible for more church splits than Rick Warren.
To: hiho hiho
That's awful. Adrian Rogers was no "purpose driven" imbecile. I hope they are not destroying his BIBLICAL legacy to conform to RICK WARREN, of all people ... . It is time for the church to stand firm in what it teaches and how it conducts itself.

"Warrenism" -- Unchurching the Churched
Exactly!
I just LEFT a Baptist church because of this ridiculous RICK WARREN approach. That church has become a joke. Rick Warren is not at all a Biblical guy. He twists and perverts Scripture for the NUMBERS. Fell good sermons, humanistic sermons, rock concerts, comedy shows ... people dress better going to work than when they roll in there ...it's shameful.

If I wasn't sure Adrian Rogers was in heaven, I'd state he'd be rolling over in his grave at how they are trashing his church. Adrian Rogers was a SOLID BIBLICAL teacher and he conducted the church accordingly.

Amen. It's infiltrated the church like an insidious disease. Destroying it from the inside out. It's shameful.

I'm without a church right now myself because I refuse to be part of this. Of course had I stayed I would have just been targeted as a "resister" & pushed out the door. That's the PDL way. But you won't see that on a coffee cup.

Warren's theology is an inch deep, at best.

Is there a Calvary Chapel in your area? Most are solid.

It's interesting you say that. A couple of years back I was attending a Calvary Chapel. Left mainly because of some new in the faith foolishness. But after this experience at the church I was attending, I've been giving serious consideration to returning. As a matter of fact the CC pastor has a program on local TV on Saturday nights. It just went off. So that's interesting.
And I agree. Biblically based, expository teaching. Very solid. Thanks. I'm going to have to pick up the phone at some point I guess.

I am not a King-James-only person. Or a hymnal/organ-only person.
Times change.

I think that everyone of you needs to examine yourself to see how your critical spirit lines up with the word of God! Do you honestly think that you are all bringing glory and honor to God with all this idle chit-chat. Are you all being the really fine upstanding example and witness of the love of Jesus Christ, huh? What do think the lost of this world must be thinking of all your critical attitudes, and back-biting?
You ought to all be ashamed of yourselves!!! As a Southern Baptist Church member, I'm ashamed to hear any of this!
BTW, My husband and I are seniors over 60 and on of the 'Praise and Worship' team for both morning services, and I worship with my hands raised and clap them too, at least the Word of God gives me freedom to do so and tells me to. Search for that in the Word and you'll find it in there, more than a few times.
If you all feel so strongly that you are in the right, then why do you 'Cut and Run'? The scripture plainly states, "...and having done all to stand." Eph 6:13. The Bible also cautions us, "....touch not my anointed and do my Prophets no harm......"
I Chronicles 16: 21 and 22 and again in Ps. 105: 11-15.
This was so important to God that it is reiterated it at least twice in His word.....in precisely the very same words!
Yes, I too think Dr. Adrian Rogers would turn over in his grave if he could hear all your criticisms......would he deem you and your criticism to be Christ like?
Yes, this is a rebuke and meant, as speaking the truth in love and I sincerely hope it is taken that way.
THINK about it and then PRAY about it!!

To begin with who says that Rick Warren is anointed and that he is a prophet of God? The verse that you have quoted have been used numerous times by cults to silent any one who would speak out against a leader and their abuses. Think about it!
I have herd sermons stating that if anyone dared to say a thing about the leadership they were guilty of spiritual leprosy and that everyone was to shun them. This a control tactic that cults use.
