I am relieved that they will be getting out soon. Still praying for them though! Have you or any Freeper heard from Rebel_Yell2 yet? Is he okay?
I have heard that they are bringing in some cruise ships--should be evacuated tonight or tomorrow...
We will keep them all in our prayers, my friend. Based on various remarks from government officials and Tony Snow, it sounds like our government has been very careful to make sure there is not a huge herd of Americans gathering at any one time (so they can't be targeted), and that accomodations will be adequate both for transportation and arrival. Having seen the propensity of some of my fellow countrymen to complain about the "inadequate response" to their needs during Katrina, I can't help but suspect they would like to avoid any similar ugly scenes. While I am sure most will be simply grateful for the help, there will be some who will want to complain, and they will get an undue amount of attention.
Prayers and bump!!
Thank you so much for the ping to this thread.

The Orient Queen, a Lebanese cruise ship under contract with the U.S. military, pulled in Tuesday night, said Vice Adm. Patrick Walsh, the top U.S. naval officer in the Mideast. Walsh said passengers would go aboard and leave Beirut at first light on Wednesday morning. More
