What do you do for an encore after you've been "ordained" priestess of the Roman Catholic Church?
Former Ohio first lady, ex-wife of former Governor Richard Celeste, Dagmar Braun Celeste was "ordained" in the Catholic Church by Romulo Antonio Braschi, founder of a schismatic community, on a boat in the Danube River between Austria and Germany on June 29, 2002. She was declared excommunicated by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on July 22, 2002, which left her a priestess without a church.
Celeste will be conducting her Roman Catholic mass ritual this coming Sunday at the WinterStar Festival 23, "Sects & Sex", a gathering of Ohio Pagans at Atwood Lake Resort in Dellroy, Ohio, U.S.A.
WinterStar is sponsored by the Chameleon Club/Association of Consciousness Exploration, and by Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship.
Also on the program will be LaSara Firefox, second generation Pagan clergy ordained by the Church of All Worlds; Donald Michael Kraig, author of Modern Sex Magick: Secrets of Erotic Spirituality; Rev. Ivan Stang of the Church of the SubGenius; Garan Du, scholar of queer and transgendered spiritual history; Ea, co-founder of a thelemic magical order for gay and bi men; Phil Farber who will offer a turn-on to group mind, gods, demons and imaginary friends; Suzette Henderson, feminist activist; Joseph Rothenberg, offering a mediated initiatory experience disguised as a video game using biofeedback; Sheri Winston, healer, counselor, educator and teacher of wholistic sexuality; Niagra Voodoo offering tribal traditions and Santeria; and Snakes Rising, sharing the ecstacy of devotion by evoking hot, sultry nights with their dance rhythms and chanting.
Celeste's mass is a repeat performance. She was on the WinterStar program in 2005 as well.
Be sure to check out the WinterStar 2005 program link ... lol! Druids, et al.

If there was any doubt in anyone's mind that this excommunication was justified, this article should put that to rest. What a loon.
If this woman is a Catholic priest, pigs fly, water runs uphill, and the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. It is absurd to label this excommunicated woman a Catholic, much less a priest.
Hmmm.... Think the National Catholic Reporter is bitter about how rash and impudent Pope Benedict was for excommuicating this otherwise orthodoxm faithful soul? (/sarcasm)
This might be worth going to, just to have an old-fashioned freak show experience.
For anyone going, I wouldn't stand too close to Dagmar during the ritual, those bolts can be devastating even at close range.

If you go, could you please film it and post some shots?
We'd all like to have a good laugh.
(kind of like the parish [?] in my area that does the Stations of the Cross with Mimes)
Garan Du, scholar of queer and transgendered spiritual history;
But of course! Dig into these things enough, and you always find faggotry.
I would go if I could, but Ohio's a bit far away and I'm already booked this weekend. But if anyone else can make it, maybe they can post something. If this outfit is ever around here, I'll make a point of attending. About 20 years ago, a friend and I stayed up all night to attend the Planetary Convergence sunrise observation on one of the beaches here. It was quite an experience.
Hoo boy. Major looney-tunes New Agey. Poor child's elevator probably hasn't gone to the top floor in years! Probably ate a tained mushroom at Berkely in '68 while smoking some of that weird Colombian weed, and addled her poor self. She should have just gone down the road to the local ECUSA "worship space." Lots of ECUSA places would welcome her with open arms and make her the rectoress.
Actually, being married to Dick Celeste ("Dick Celeste, before he ...) was probably enough to unhinge her mind.
They imply that she was duly ordained, and then laicized. We all know that any ordination was "dress up and make believe", and that the excommunication was for mocking Christ's Church.
These must be the people that think 12 year old girls should stand up in front of the congregation and go through a "menstruation ritual" when they reach puberty. As one old Episcopal Minister whom I respect put it, what a way to make sure she never darkens the doors of a church again as soon as she can get away with it.
You've got that right!
I just learned that the piskie church I used to go to is going to use Eucharistic Prayers from the new age "Enriching Our Worship" alternative liturgy. Pagans.
I'll bet that she has hands on experience with that Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Ministry.
