CAN U POst a prayer request? This evening I fell and broke my left wrist. both bones -- maybe surgery.
Also, there is a 13 y/o boy in my parish who is in critical condition. His body is producing 10x the amount of spinal fluid of a grown man which backs up in his brain. His many surgeries so far have not been sucessful. His family is looking for a new neurosurgeon.
His situation -- single mom, little sister. dad left mom a few yrs ago for a younnger woman, at that time mom was diagnosed w/ cervical cancer.
Please lots of prayers. Ping all

I have never heard of anything like this. May God guide and console him and his family.

Jaded, I hate to be a member of the cold-water brigade but you will almost certainly have to have surgery. Certainly, the location of the breaks will have a lot to do with it and my experience is from many years ago. Having said that, I will tell you of my experience.
Many years ago I was involved in a 2-hand touch football game following Thanksgiving dinner. I got embarrassingly burned by a girl who ran past me and caught the ball. I dived out and touched her with both hands. Problem is, my touch was applied to her ankle which tripped her. She fell on the ball and broke both bones in her arm at the wrist.
I learned the next day that she had to wait several hours because we had all just eaten, then had surgery that night. She was the cousin of a high school classmate of mine and I learned thru him that she wound up having several more surgeries on her arm over the next few years.
I pray that your injury is not as severe and I am certain that the technology for repairing it is much better than 30-some years ago.
As for the boy with the spinal fluid problem. This sounds horribly serious. Do they know what is causing the over production of the fluid? The headaches from intra-cranial pressure can be terrible. My oldest son (FReeper Clarinet_King) had brain surgery for a cyst in his brain a couple years ago. He had some monster headaches for 2-3 years before we lucked out and got an answer as to what was causing it. He's still got some problems that he is dealing with but we were fortunate to have a wonderful surgeon. His prognosis is good. We will add this boy to our prayers.

Prayers for you , I broke both bones in both wrist last year, It has been a long strugle, I still need more surgery, make sure you have a good hand Doctor from the start, my first Doc messed up and I have lots of nerve damage now.
