Prayers requested for my newborn grandson
10/14/2005 | syriacus

Please pray for my daughter's new firstborn. James Patrick seemed to be doing well for the first few hours of his life, but has been placed in the ICU.

The delivery seemed to go very well, though the baby was larger than expected and preparations had been made for a C-section.He is now 7 hours old and my daughter has not yet held him.

When I last spoke with her, hospital personnel had not told her what was wrong.

May God continue to watch over this child and guide those who care for him. May He restore him to health and build a shield of protection around him, in Jesus' name.

Prayers continue for the little boy, James Patrick. May God continue to hold him and care for him while leading him into full health. May the family's hearts be comforted and may the worry fall away as the baby continues to heal and strengthen.

May God continue to bless and guide the hands that care for James, (and, if I might add, may they be bopped over the head so that they finally let that mother hold her precious baby!! so so so important, no matter how many wires and tubes and anything else!)

My daughter called to say she and her husband were on the way home from the hospital. James is no longer receiving oxygen and will probably be allowed to go home in a few days. Meanwhile, the nurses will attempt to feed him (He had been fed through an IV).

My daughter and son-in-law were allowed to hold the baby before they left for home and are looking forward to holding him again.

My daughter was told that they were not certain if James had an infection or just fluid left in the lungs (like DLfromthedesert had said might be the case).

All of the prayers, the stories from your lives, and the information you all contributed went a long, long way toward comforting James's parents and the rest of our family, too.

Everyone in our family was very touched and encouraged when I told them you all were praying and helping to allay our fears in other ways.

I am very grateful for your outpouring of care.

Your prayers have made all the difference in the world.

It's sooooooo very easy to care about and for a little one in need :) We were on the receiving end of love and prayers and concern for Logan and we know the difference it made in our lives and the outcome for Logan.

Prayers will continue for little James. Mommy's voice and touch has amazing powers for this baby. Just keep telling him how strong he is...... they understand.

Thank you for the update. I'm so happy little James is doing so well.

I know it was hard for your daughter to leave the hospital without her baby. Thankfully, he'll be home soon.

Prayer bump for little James' continued improvement.

It is wonderful to hear the good news! So-o-o glad to hear that Mommy and Daddy got to hold baby James before leaving the hospital! Pretty strong medicine for all three of them!

May God continue to bless them, and may they bring a completely healed and healthy baby James home soon.

So, when does gramma get to hold the baby?!! :-)

God's providence and richest blessings surround you all.
