Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in peace.
God became Man, and the Word was made flesh.
Christ was born of a Virgin.
Christ suffered.
Christ was crucified.
Christ died.
Christ rose from the dead.
Christ ascended into Heaven.
Christ conquers.
Christ reigns.
Christ orders.
May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning.
Christ went through their midst in peace, and the Word was made flesh.
Christ is with us with Mary.
Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Juda, the Root David, has won.
Holy God!
Holy Powerful God!
Holy Immortal God!
Have mercy on us. Amen!

Oremus. Oratio

R. Amen.

V. Dóminus vobíscum.
R. Et cum spíritu tuo.

V. Exáudiat nos omnípotens et misericors Dóminus.
R. Amen.

V. Et fidelium ánimæ † per misericórdiam Dei requiéscant in pace.
R. Amen.

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear
though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

From Psalm 46

Scripture reading:

One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, "Let us go across to the other side of the lake." So they set out, and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a storm of wind came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in danger.

And they went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; and they ceased, and there was a calm.

He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, "Who then is this, that he commands even wind and water, and they obey him?"

Luke 8:22-25

My Jesus, I trust in Thee

My Jesus, I trust in thee,
even as the darkness gathers.
My Jesus, I trust in thee,
even as the storm clouds deepen.
My Jesus, I trust in thee,
even when the lightning threatens.

My Jesus, help me trust in thee,
even though my heart quakes.
My Jesus, help me trust in thee
even though you may seem far way.
My Jesus, help me trust in thee,
even though evil seems near.

My Jesus, may I trust in thee,
even when sorrow breaks my heart.
My Jesus, may I trust in thee,
even in the darkness of my grief.
My Jesus, may I trust in thee,
even when I don't understand why.

If you could please keep my family and children in your prayers. We are on the NW side of Houston. Tried to get out early this morning but turned right back around--traffic was at a standstill.

We are not in a mandatory evac. area, but it's still scary to see that storm headed this way.

Pray that my I am strong for my children. My husband says everything is going to be okay, but I guess I'm the worry-wart of the family.

Aggie Mama, you will be in my prayers. My brother lives off of 249 and Louetta...as does one of my nieces and her hubby. Not sure where they are...I've been avoiding calling since I talked to him a couple of days ago, cause all he has are cell phones, and I didn't want to add extra traffic.

God bless, and may he send his angels to keep you and yours safe.

Ora Pro Nobis

I fly unto your patronage, my mother,
Ora pro nobis.
You who never leave anyone unaided,
but lay all our sighs, mourning and tears
at the feet of your Son,
Ora pro nobis.
You who try to keep us under your mantle
like your little children
wrapped safe against the wind and the rain,
Ora pro nobis.
Thank you for caring when we wander far away
and you come searching to call us home,
Ora pro nobis.
Thank you for teaching us
to cherish your Son
and show us his ways,
Ora pro nobis.
Thank you for being willing to be mother of us all,
O Mother of the Word Incarnate.

Be especially with those in harm's way of this storm,
and pray to your son
for their safety and protection.
May he send angels
to guard each and every one
who will be waiting out the storm.

Divine Mercy, astonishment for Angels, incomprehensible
to saints,
I trust in thee!

Oh Father of mercy,
Hear our voice,
and let our cry come to thee,
Remember this day
All those caught up by the storm,
those who are fleeing their homes,
those who must stay behind,
those who are worried for their dear ones,
those who will lose much,
and those who will lose heart.

May each and every soul affected
find shelter under your wings,
agains the wind and the rain and the flood,
protected by your mighty hand,
guarded by your angels,
and in the end,
learn who is their light and salvation.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

I have some friends in a possible path of the storm. Praying for all in the path.

Prayer to Our Lady, Mother of Mercy

O Blessed Mother,
Mother of mercy,
We turn to you
Our mother,
our hope
when times overwhelm us,
and you are there
to share our grief,
comfort us in our mourning
and guide us to the safety of your Son.

O Blessed Mother
remember today those
who stare out at an uncertain future,
those who have lost their homes,
their loved ones,
their friends,
their work.

Pray for those who work
to help in the wake of disaster,
who fight the fires,
shelter the homeless,
rescue the shaken and injured,
care for the dying
and stand watch against the darkness.

Pray for us who look on and see.
May we not look on with unseeing eye,
but with the eye that causes us
to do your Son's will,
to act mercifully,
to care,
to pray,
to do.

O Queen of Heaven,
You truly understand our suffering,
You always and ever care for each of us, your children.
Teach us to be the hands and feet
that you may work through,
that you may pour your Son's graces through,
to bring salt and light
to this sorrowful world.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
I know that you do not despise our petitions,
but in your mercy,
You hear and answer us.
Thank you.

Amen.

Amen.

It is scary when we have loved ones in the way of this type of danger...and then the waiting's so hard.
