Known and Unknown - life of mother and baby

Posted on 08/17/2005 12:23:28 PM PDT by greed1sin

In old times of Europe, a bishop declared that Earth is the center of the universe and asked all the people to believe. We have this kind of things repeatedly happened through history. Does he need to decide if Earth is the center of universe? He does not have to determine something that he does not know.

Now, somebody says human life with spirit starting when an egg combing with a sperm and dwelling in a womb. Nobody knows when a human life with spirit really starts. Nonetheless, we do know the benefit of the mother and the baby.

We need to consider both the life of the mother and the baby. If the reason of pregnant is bad in public view, then the baby can be removed at the mother’s will at any time. If the reason is good in public view, then the mother can remove the baby within three months at her will. But, after three months, the baby has the right to be born. Government should take care of the baby if the mother cannot take care of the baby. The richest people should pay the tax to raise the baby for public good.

Does that bishop have a name or are you fabricating a fantasy?

Nobody knows when a human life with spirit really starts.

Since we don't know, perhaps we should err on the side of caution.

We can watch Mommy and Daddy's DNA molecules split at conception and join to form new DNA. It is human DNA that does not belong to Mommy or Daddy. What human being does it belong to?

Hmmm....actually the bishop was quoting Aristotle...gotta hand it to those Greek homos...they were so fundamentalist...

As for life beginning, maybe you prefer Peter Singer and Joseph Fletcher, who thought that although life begins at conception, that personhood requires an IQ of 40...so that means we can kill anyone under two years of age, not to mention get rid of grannie...

If the reason of pregnant is bad in public view,

So we decide who lives and who dies by public opinion?

At one time public opinion was that if we did not tear a beating heart out and offer it up to the sun then the sun would cease to rise.

This is about on the same level of superstition.

Now, somebody says human life with spirit starting when an egg combing with a sperm and dwelling in a womb. Nobody knows when a human life with spirit really starts.

Actually dear we do. From the moment of conception the child has a unique DNA (so is human) and begins to grow (so is alive). This is science.

I find most people believe in God. If you do, the question is moot.

Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I was forming you in the belly I knew you, and before you proceeded to come forth from the womb I sanctified you..."

I think "reason of pregnant is bad in public view" has something to do with the 30 pounds I've gained.
