Rick warren is gearing up to train a billion people, unbeknownst to many he has also been teamed up with New Age and contemplative promoter,Ken Blanchard, for some time now. According to a new biography on Rick Warren,A Life With A Purpose wrtten by George Mair,Rick Warren has solicited the services of Ken Blanchard to aid him to train leaders:"Rick taps the best and the most famous to help train church leaders to be like Jesus. he has hired Ken Blanchard...to come to saddleback to help train people how to be effective leaders."p.193
In light of knowing who Ken Blanchard is,this is shocking and devatating news for the Church!
There is countless evidence to show that Ken Blanchard sits on the New age/mystical/contemplative bandwagon.Blanchard believes in the benefits and use of mantra meditation, yoga and has no trouble borrowing from Buddism... http://lighthousetrailsresearch.com/Pressreleasekenblanchard.htm

{Matthew 24:11} False Prophets will rise in great numbers to mislead many.
Lame and narrow-minded criticism. There is a mystical strain in all religions.
Just more from the "Buy my book, not Rick's" crowd. It's all about sales.
I have got to finish my manuscript...
Borrowing from Pagan religions is unchristian and unbiblical
But perhaps some will.
You seem to be one of them.
Please show proof Rick Warren has done this.
What is it you claim people will not listen to?
I,m posting the truth.
People have free will to do as they choose.
The gate is narrow, this much we know for sure.
Pretty tenuous connection between Blanchard and Warren, one comment on one page of an unauthorized biography from the same guy that wrote a bio on Paris Hilton.
Stellar research, no doubt.
What truth?
Call me cynical but any preacher who aligns himself with new age gurus and yoga masters, uses paraphrased Bibles and scriptural quotes that are at best problematic, and conduct marketing surveys to draw and keep people attending a church sends alarm bells off in my mind. But than that's just me.
Prove it. Particularly the "aligns with" part. Not the employment of someone for a specific purpose, but the alignment with beliefs.
uses paraphrased Bibles
I'm sorry you don't like some translations of the bible, there are many other than the King James.
and scriptural quotes that are at best problematic,
Name them and I let you know if they are problematical.
and conduct marketing surveys to draw and keep people attending a church sends alarm bells off in my mind.
One sure wouldn't want to explore the best way to spread the gospel. (sarcasm)
But than that's just me.
That part is correct.
Sorry, the sites you listed are just opinion sites, there is no proof there. YOU have been deceived. There are many false prophets.
Having very little concern about this particular battle, I still ask though, "What's wrong with meditiative practices, as long as they are to meditate on Jesus (God)?"
The practices being discussed here are being borrowed from Buddhism which is a pagan religion.
Christians don,t borrow from eastern mysticism.
Please don't direct me to opinion pieces written by the people who have deceived you as proof of anything.
