LOL! The mother had a bag of toys and treats that failed to quiet them. Our parish priests are both very strict and I have a feeling they will be in touch with this family.
Doors are closed--conclave has begun. May the Holy Spirit guide them!

The doors are closed,
the conclave begins.
Now it is in the hands of 115 men,
and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Like in the cenacle
in Jerusalem long ago,
let the fire fall!

Thank God the parents were chasing down their little boy when the Sign of Peace was given, or I don't know what I might have said to them.I would have grabbed one by the arm and shook him and said "KNOCK IT OFF!"

I think Cardinal O'Brien/O'Brian of Scotland has a purely kind face.

You know, this feels like Nov. '04 all over again. I'm constantly checking FR & paddypower.com, which, BTW, has Francis Cardinal Arinze on top once again at 3-1.
To: sinkspur
He's back!! I believe Ratzinger presides at the conclave, but is he also responsible for its administration? Or is that the task of the camerlengo? I long to see Marini's back.

Thanks for posting it.
I enjoyed reading it.
Cardinal Ratzinger put a lot of thought and prayer into this homily.

I feel guilty somehow for posting
this. It seems so crass to gamble on so important an issue. Nonetheless, in an information vacuum . . .

"Purely" as in "Divine" or "Heavenly"?

How many times should a parent say, "Tommy be quiet, you're in church" before they realize that it is a no win situation. When my girls were little and couldn't handle the long mass .. My hubby and I would do shifts and keep them at home
When they got a little older I told them if they didn't behave and sit still .. we would stay for the next mass
I only had to do that once :0)
Now that they are older and don't pay attention in mass .. I just need to snap my fingers and give "The Look" .. just like my mom did with my siblings :0)

I can't wager using PaddyPower 'cause I'm in the U.S. However, I do believe that those who bet on PaddyPower have some sort of inside info.

And whether Ratzinger is elected pope or not, he has had a great hand in directing the tone and thought of the preliminaries...Of the current cardinals, he is my hero...

FoxNews reporter this morning said the first vote MAY take place around 7:00 p.m. Rome time. That would be in about 1.5 hours from now.
