[Very interesting.

1: Eastern Orthodox (100%)
2: Anglican/Episcopal/Church of England (91%)
3: Roman Catholic (85%)
4: Lutheran (75%)
5: Presbyterian/Reformed (73%)
6: Church of Christ/Campbellite (61%)
7: Methodist/Wesleyan/Nazarene (61%)
8: Pentecostal/Charismatic/Assemblies of God (61%)
9: Congregational/United Church of Christ (54%)
10: Anabaptist (Mennonite/Quaker etc.) (47%)
11: Baptist (Reformed/Particular/Calvinistic) (45%)
12: Baptist (non-Calvinistic)/Plymouth Brethren/Fundamentalist (29%)
13: Seventh-Day Adventist (22%)

I too wonder about the 100% Eastern Orthodox. Perhaps the criteria applied to that are too few in this quiz. Actually, the concidence of some percentages with Will's implies a more general lack of discerning criteria. Have fun! --sionnsar]

Hardly any surprises here. I am slightly concerned at Presbyterian getting 65%.

There were a few questions where I didn't really like any of the answers - for example on the question about Sunday morning worship I had to answer:

"A formal, liturgical service with a roughly equal amount of time dedicated to the sermon and to the other elements, usually or always including communion."

Whereas I would much rather have put:

"a formal, liturgical service, the sermon being shorter than other part; of necessity including the Holy Eucharist/Mass".

Some false choices (e.g., neither was exact, but one was less so than the other, so I picked that one).

I took it again, and this time, I totally "went with my gut," instead of thinking about what my teaching has been. I'm still EO, but the Lutheranism isn't quite so strong. Eeps! Now I'm 20% SDA--must be my arms.

I too wonder about the 100% Eastern Orthodox

Your top rankings are Orthodox, Anglican/Episcopal and Roman Catholic. Put them altogether and you should explore the Eastern Catholic Churches, which are not factored into this quiz. ;-D

As you say, this is an very interesting, although I could fault some of the questions and the answers. For instance, "None of the above" should be an option on every question. ("Not sure" is not the same as "None of the above.")

I am guessing that the author of the "Online Denominational Selector" based his questions and answers on the official doctrines of each church or denominations. To do this right, one would devise a good questionnaire, then use it to survey a suitable sample of people belonging to each denomination. From their responses, it would be possible to obtain a profile of each denomination.
