How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?

This has been a pretty bad week for the Roman Catholic Church as two more priests charged with sex abuse crimes and child rape were convicted. We Catholics are used to the drill by now. They walk in with their hands at their sides and they walk out in handcuffs. We’re used to the muffled weeping of the people in the cheap seats. We’re used to the victim’s gut-wrenching sobs on the stand. The priestly “perp walk” is just another day at the office. Trying to put the pieces together of the worst scandal in the history of the modern church I wondered how this happened. How did these children keep quiet about something so awful for so long?

The church is being purified of all the human evil within.
God can and will mend the broken hearts and souls of men.

The Eucharist remains holy and as the center of Catholic belief infallible to the human evil we've witnessed.

Law will meet far greater punishment from the Lord then we can imagine. Justice is His to inflict!

I think things will get worse before the Lord takes pity.

There is a New Vatican document to eliminate the 1961 Papal ban on ordaining homosexual men.

In 1961 Pope John XXIII approved in writing a ban on homosexual ordinations to the Priesthood. As of this time the ban is still in effect. The document was called "Careful Selection and Training of Candidates for the States of Perfection and Sacred Orders"

This fall that document is to be rescinded for a new one. It's already been drawn up, by a (get this) group of non Catholic liberals deciding how the Church will handle the situation. (guess where this is going)

There actually is in the document a sentence that says homosexuals are not to be admitted to seminary or ordained, but several loopholes have been thrown wide open - such as how they are judged to be homosexuals.

From the article:

Our Church is governed by men. And it seems to be inherent in their species not to squeal on each other in sexual escapades and infidelities. Buddies have been covering up for cheating buddies for centuries because they may need the favor returned someday if they decide to cheat on their spouses.

Catholic bishops, almost universally, covered for their priests, not caught cheating on their wives, but cheating on Christ and His Church. So the wink and the nod is the order of the day in ecclesiastical circles just like the rest of the world.

And one of the most heinous criminal masterminds America has ever produced sits unpunished in a palatial mansion in Rome; waited on hand and foot by a staff of servants; drawing a generous stipend from the Vatican; being chauffeured around the Roman cocktail party circuit in a limo.

He is a sociopath of the highest order; the king of compartmentalization. For this he was rewarded with one of the most prestigious assignments in the Roman Catholic Church and handed over one of our most sacred Basilicas, St. Mary Major. The irony of this dreadful, fallen man occupying this post is dwarfed only by its repugnance. That he accepted this post so readily and shamelessly proves he is an unrepentant phony.

He is a man who should be doing time with the priests he hid out in his dirty little attic. His name is Cardinal Bernard Law.

He is the granddaddy of them all in this ultimate boys club. He is the godfather who made sure his good fellas were taken care of. And, apparently, he also knows where all the bodies are buried because when he got into hot water who did he run to? Who took him in, gave him sanctuary, patted him on the back and said job well done?

None other than Pope John Paul II, lately known for harboring one of the worst human beings on the face of the planet. A Cardinal bought and paid for by the Vatican.

And so we see once again the old adage bearing fruit, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely”. And so it has.

If marriage were a voluntary option within the priesthood, I think we'd see a lot less of this.

Well it didn't work for the last two churches my wife belonged to. Both ministers were married and both were bisexual.

That means they were wrong. Not the institution of marriage.

And may I ask which churches? That may have some bearing.

"If marriage were a voluntary option within the priesthood, I think we'd see a lot less of this."

Why do you think being married would make homosexuals stop being homosexuals, and pedophiles stop being pedophiles?

Because I believe marriage is sanctified of God. People will do what they will. And God will do what He will.

I'll opt for God, thanks.

In both cases they would be considered bible believing, born again, very, very conservative churches. I won't mention the denominations.

Marriage has little to do with the call to the priesthood.

That means they were wrong. Not the institution of marriage.

So if a married minister commits sexual sin, you blame the minister, but if a celibate priest commits sexual sin, you blame the celibate priesthood?

Let's get real, here. Sin is sin; you can't excuse one by saying that celibacy is the culprit while not excusing the other because marriage isn't.

Maybe if our (I'm Catholic) bishops chased away the homosexuals from the seminaries and religious orders, instead of chasing away the orthodox, faithful Catholic men who actually want to be holy and reverent priests, we wouldn't have this problem.

I can name several young men I know who would make fine priests, but have told me, "Never, in this diocese." Why? Because our former bishop persecuted and marginalized the orthodox, while celebrating the heterodox and questionable. The good men are chased off, while one of his so-called "vocations" publicly supported John Kerry for president, including contributing the maximum amount of money to the pseudo-Catholic's campaign.

"I sense an enemy's hand in this," according to the parable. The problem is not celibacy, the problem is that some of our bishops are doing everything they can to destroy the Catholic priesthood.

No, I blame the celibate priest.

Catholics are welcome to their priesthood, in whatever implementation the priests want it.

I simply offer what I personally understand as a healthier outlook toward human to human relations.

Despite my reservations, I'll continue to pray that the Church is right by God...and that I am. No necessary contradiction in that by Deuteronmy 4:19 and Malachi 1:11.

God's grace to You and Yours....
