The bishops have apparently now voted Bishop Trautman as head of the Bishops Committee on the Liturgy. This is horrible, horrible news for those of us who are more traditional on matters liturgical. In this America article, Bishop Trautman expresses his views about the wretched oppression Rome is visiting upon the Church with its attempts to reform the liturgy.
May God forgive me, but I vote for fatigues, and sulphur bombs.
Why do we waste more time, which I have been doing, waiting for things to get better.
In 1950 The Soviet Union began larding the semaries with communist agents.
Later, they were joined by homosexuals who worked in conceert with these God=less atheistic communists!
What do we have today?
Folk, clown and prancing priests on the "altar."
If Catholics today think this is not enough, then we've indeed had it!
We can always count of you for perspective, erudition, and as an unidentified U.S. General expressed to Peggy Noonan (if you'll pardon my brazenness), two of 'em.
The Church usually ended up with those in authority fixing the problem - I don't believe the Church has ever seen so many enemies at the same time in positions of authority.
Maybe nows the time to be the mob and run them out?
"to walk into the USCCB meeting opening fire with an AK-47, or wielding a butterfly net?"
Hmmm, let me think....! Perhaps "Preventive War Theory" would be of help here?
OTOH in order to gain a more multilateral coalition of allies in the conflict, perhaps sanctions should be used first?
I suggest a blockade of all AZT supplies to the USCCB might make them surrender without a fight!
Do the right thing, support those who are doing it right, and say novenas to St. Charles Borromeo and all the other sainted bishops.
And be glad that Bishops are basically in control in their own diocese, and if you have a good one, praise God, and if you don't pray a lot and offer your grief up as an offering.
And know this: Time is on the side of the right, because those bishops grow ever closer to replacement, and the young men in the seminary are growing further and further away from Kumbaya, and closer to the truth of of Jesus
I suggest a blockade of all AZT supplies to the USCCB might make them surrender without a fight!
Hmmm......now even I didnt think of that! I like it.
.....I can just picture the meeting hall in the Hyatt totally empty......papers still fluttering in the air from the stampeded to leave........and the silence broken only by chirping crickets...........
bttt
If Bishop Trautman publishes dissenting material or attempts to enforce such it will only contribute to his impending correction...
-sometimes the best way to hang one in need of hanging is to provide them plenty of rope...
It might be interesting to start a website called rate the Bishops? Criteria would be based upon obedience to Rome...
The light will set us free...
Wow, Troutman and Skystad partnered up. Now that's dangerous. Well, it would be dangerous, but there is little more for them to destroy.
I say we start planting rumors in the ears of some of the bishops in hopes that they get into a catfight and scratch eachother to death.
"Please flood your bishop's office with complaints about this selection and let them know that the time for the do-it-yourself-liturgy is over."
Why?
The bishops don't give a rat's posterior what the laity want. They know better.
These guys have nothing but disdain for traditional liturgy. Trautman's selection is obviously the will of the majority.
Complaints to bishops are filed in the round file and are not worth the time it takes to write them.
If it seems like I have a bad attitude regarding the bishops, it is because I do. In my current estimation most American bishops rank well below crooked used car salesmen and ambulance chasers.
I've said it once, and I've said it multiple times, that if the Bishop is liberal, withhold all contributions. Give to the parish, and to any other charitable organizations, but give no money to the diocese or the NCCB.
If enough concerned Catholics dried up these Bishops' funds, they might notice our displeasure.
I think you meant to reply to the original poster.
Like you, with few exceptions, I think contacting these pathetic and heretical (and too often flaming homosexual) USCCB bishops is worthless.
Dollars do talk where other things don't....I know there are some collections I will not give to.
Huge step backward from the "lets all hold hands and share a meal" wing.
They don't care about the Holy Eucharist, and don't care about our eternal salvation. In fact, they want to alienate us from the Blessed Sacrament, by diminishing the Doctrine of the True Presence. They disdain private devotions - they focus on the horizontal aspects of the Mass to distract us from the vertical aspects, and use the Mass for the rejection of all else.
I participate in the Mass - the supreme sacrifice - in the proper sense, and what I do to keep company with God on my own time is not their business.
"The Europeans are far ahead of us on the downward slope."
I totally agree. As bad as the US bishops may appear, they're still ultra-conservatives compared with the arch-modernists Pope John Paul has appointed to Europe.
Unfortunately, when it comes to promoting priests our pope seems to put ecumania before all else...

Good for you! Money talks.
Sometimes we are "too good" and figure "Oh, it's for the Church." We must be "ruthless," however, because it's the Faith we're defending.
The Florida Bishops won't lift a finger for Terri Schiavo's life. I posted that any Catholics living in Florida should stop contributing to their dioceses. "Oh no, we can't do THAT!" was the type of answer I received.
The US GOP Senators you'd email or phone. The lib Bishops you'd cut off at the kneecaps by withholding funds. Ya gotta make it hurt in order to cut through their hubris.
