Some gems from the site...
TOPIC: Why as a Catholic I will vote for Kerry/Edwards
- I think the main reason I'm for Kerry is because of the chastisement of Bush from our spiritual leader, the Pope. He begged President Bush not to start the war with Iraq. His pleas went unheeded. (So Bush should do what a man who runs a religious group says? If he did that with a Christian leader, they'd freak out on us!)
- reasons I am for Kerry is because the democrats seem to be humanitarians. They care if you can't feed your kids because of the bills. They take into account those less fortunate than others, and try to change that situation. They lift people up.
- Plus, it doesn't hurt that he's Catholic!
- He supports a womans right to choose, not abortion. Big difference.(On what planet???)
- I support the Kerry/Edwards ticket because we are a nation in dire need of real leadership.
- [Bush] refused to support a racial hate crime bill (Good, since there is no such thing as a HATE crime, motive shouldn't mean harsher penalties)
- This is just the tip of the iceberg BUT if none of this matters to you, the lack of honesty and integrity, the disregard for living breathing human life, carelessness with out children's education, our livelyhoods, our enviroment and more.
- John Kerry is a man who happens to be a practicing Catholic a throwback that many have never seen.
- John Kerry's religion is actually what makes him the more complete of the two candidates.(YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!)

John Kerry is a man who happens to be a practicing Catholic a throwback that many have never seen.He was hilarious on Larry King. He said he believes life begins at conception but when asked why, he couldn't get a coherent word out of his mouth.
The poor fellow actually thinks his feebly formed conscience is the greatest authority in his life.
He may be practicing but it appears he is just practicing bad habits.
Yes, many have never seen a practicing Catholic. Well, many of the members of this group.

I saw a bumper sticker for this group yesterday and almost wrecked my truck. I couldn't believe my eyes. Are these people Catholics on Mars, as one of the other posts here indicates. I went to the web site and am aghast at what I've seen. The lack of effective catechesis over the past twenty years is no more blatantly evident than on this web site. I believe that Frances Kissling and her ilk from 'Catholics' for a Free Choice (Punctuation around Catholic mine) must be behind this abomination.
My mind is whirling with approaches as to how we can warn faithful Catholics about this nonsense.
Any ideas...?

Does this mean that Kerry will do what the Pope asks ??? No, but if Kerry refuses to do what the Pope asks, he's a courageous liberal standing up against the forces of reaction and patriarchy. On the other hand, if Bush refuses to do what the Pope asks, he's defying "our spiritual leader, the Pope". Unless what the Pope asks is something contrary to The One True Liberal Faith, in which case Bush is ah, um, standing up against he forces of reaction and patriarchy, just not as well as Kerry would have done.
Do you understand now? </sarcasm >
