Free Republic Christians,
I am writing with several urgent prayer requests. Since 1994 I have had the opportunity and privilege to teach at new evangelical seminaries, Bible colleges and Christian Universities that have opened up throughout the former USSR since the fall of communism.
To make a long story short, I have once again been asked to return this fall to Chernivtsi, Ukraine in order to teach the following four courses at a theological institute located there: Missions, Evangelism and Discipleship, Apologetics, Teaching Principles and Methods and lastly, the Book of Revelation beginning September 15, 04 to December 15, 04. I may also have an opportunity to also teach some of these courses at another theological seminary located in Chernivtsi that I taught at in 2001 and 2002 (I was unable to teach overseas last year because my mother was in the hospital for 27 weeks and my father for 4. On top of that, our youngest son needed my help to complete his Eagle Scout project, he made it :o) and he was graduating from high school with honors. Our oldest son was also graduating from college.)
I have four specific prayer requests:
1) Pray for me as I prepare these very complex courses and be praying that the Lord will be working in the hearts of the students I will be teaching. Pray that the Word of God will be faithfully taught and that Christ will be exalted in all that is said and done
2) Be praying for my family that the Lord will watch over them while I am away.
3) Pray that God will protect me from satanic attack as I prepare to go and while I am teaching overseas.
4) ) Lastly, pray that the Lord will supernaturally provide the $7,000 I need in order to cover transportation costs (air, train, bus, etc...) room and board/food for three months, provision for translators (I teach the graduate and undergraduate courses, and preach through translators) and other expenses necessary to fulfill the task at hand.

Thank You, Merciful Father, that You have already gone before and prepared the way that all will be in readiness for Your Word to be taught, and received. May this mission field be rich beyond measure with reward eternal for all who come under Your Word. May the sweet Spirit of God be so evident and may the fragrance of revival and renewal permeate the land. We are in agreement, O God, that Satan be bound in his every attempt to silence or blunt the life-giving teachings of Your Word. May we be steadfast to uphold every Servant of God before the Throne of Grace, yet let us not forget to hold their families especially close, for their sacrifices for the Gospel are so extraordinarily great, yet so very much hidden from view ... may theirs be a special blessing.
Thank You, Lord, for providing the support that is needed to accomplish the task set before Dr. Jerry. Even now, You are speaking to hearts ... bless each coin and each dollar, for each will bring an eternal reward. To You belong all riches and glory and honor and majesty, now and forever, Amen ...
