What started out as a site that I put up as the result of a heated exchange with Blackelk, Angelqueen is now is a fast-growing traditional Catholic website. Nearly 50,000 hits in June. Praise God.
I would like to see a bit more traffic on the forum, but hey can't have everything.
Traditional Catholicism and a return to orthodoxy is becoming popular, which is a good thing. Surprisingly the traditionally minded posters who post in the forum area are not SSPX, they are Novus Ordo Catholics. Everyone seems to get along well regardless of where they worship.
There is also a poster called "timwhit" that posts the Catholic/Christian martyrs for that day...every day. And when I say every day I mean every day without fail . He hasn't missed a single day since he showed up. God bless him.
I would like to thank those who helped out and offer an invitation to those who haven't joined the forum to do so. The discussion is easygoing and often enlightening and everyone is welcome.
God bless.
ping!
Catholic ping.
I owe you a big thank you. You somehow did God's work here.
Congrats to you. Good job.
But, don't you think you ought to stop using Internet Explorer? :-)
Congrats, Best!
Very funny you should say that. I just went to the opera download site the other day to get it, but it's a horrendous download so I've put it off. Maybe tonight.
50,000 hits! Awesome!
God bless you, AAABEST.
ThANKS.
Good to know there is a church in NYC
Simply beautiful! Wish more web designers would stick to a similar forumula.
Question - clicked on your Church link. It reads:
If you are interested in finding a traditional SSPX Catholic church near you here is a list to get you started. For the most current and frequently updated list, you should refer to the Society's page.
What about the Roman Catholic Churches that offer an Indult Tridentine Mass - don't these qualify as 'traditional'? And surely, you don't get more 'traditional' than the Eastern Rite Churches, where the first liturgies were celebrated. Do you plan to expand that list?
Get me a formatted list (could be anything digital, word.doc, text.txt, html or whatever) and I'll post it when I have time. Promise.
That goes for Eastern rite churches as well. You gather it and I'll be glad to put it up.
Or even links will work. I'm easy.
This is good news; really good. Keep it up, man. Never stop.
It's just a browser; nothing more. Fast and good. And free.
That said, I haven't tried Opera, but I hear it is also good.
I use Konqueror, myself, most of the time, but that's Linux only. Still, it is a little weak on certain sites, so I fill in the gaps with Firefox.
Anyhow, keep up the good work on angelqueen.org!
"Traditional Catholicism and a return to orthodoxy is becoming popular, which is a good thing. Surprisingly the traditionally minded posters who post in the forum area are not SSPX, they are Novus Ordo Catholics. Everyone seems to get along well regardless of where they worship."
If the return to orthodoxy is so "popular" as you say then why aren't the Novus Ordo Catholics on your web site returning to the old Latin Mass? I am not really interested in what is "popular" but what is true. I know what you mean though that it is heartening to see that more people are "talking" about traditional Catholicism but talking is never enough. In order for there to be a successful counter revolution there must be a return of the laity to the old Latin Mass. We must encourage people to do this. The indult was already given by Pope St. Pius V and Trent so the recent indult of 1983 is really bogus because it says that it is up to each Bishop to allow the Old Latin Mass (not too many are doing that) for those faithful who have an attachment to it and request it. This is really a tactic to discourage people from going to the old Mass and to tell the Bishops that we really want you to make the New Mass the Norm and to just have said a few token old Latin Mass for the old folks. Sopposedly the French bishops who opposed making this information known to the Laity and opposed Archbishop Lefebvre threatened a schism to Pope John Paul II if he allowed the old Mass to be a universal situation. The problem that is happening for the conciliar authorities is that people are fed up with the liturgical abuses which are endemic in the N.O.Mass that is why we see all of their GIRM warfare and constant documents to correct abuses which will never cease. In the big cities where the "indult" is offered in some pockets it is very well attended by young people with families. This scares the conciliar authorities because they have staked their careers on the Vatican II so called reforms and they want to see them succeed. Ratzinger even wants to change the 1962 Missal see Ratzinger speaks at Fontgombault see www.oriensjournal.com/11ratzing.html - 20k
Well, who in the general public knows that the Vatican commission that met in 1983 said that any priest could say it without a Bishops permission. They don't want to let people know that and I hope on your forum that you are telling people that. The Novus Ordo Mass is the vehicle for the revolution and if more people refused to go to it and demanded the Old Mass from the authorities then we would see a change.
A quick look at the directory shows that none of the three indult parishes I've attended in the past year is listed. Granted, none is an SSPX chapel -- but assuming your interest is more in helping people find a place to worship than in self-promotion, why should this matter?

Eastern Catholic Churches in the U.S.
Each of these rites has equal status in the Church with the Roman Rite and with one another. No rite is greater than any other. No rite is "more Catholic" than any other. This is true regardless of the number of members belonging to a particular rite.
All the rites of the Catholic Church also hold the same dogmas; they are unequivocally united in faith and moral teachings, for they are all part of one Holy Mother Church. Yet their policies and practices often differ according to custom. This is a good and healthy thing; it shows that the One Truth of God can be celebrated in many different ways by various cultures.
Any other suggestions?
