I try to draw my hermeneutics as directly from Scripture itself as I can. While this is inventive, I don't know of one example in either Testament even approaching something as Kabbalistic as that.
Concerning: EZEKIEL 23:1-4 this chapter is leading to the eventual Exile of the Jewish people from ISRAEL to Babylon and their 80 year Captivity.
Ohalah Hebrew meaning: her tent; and Oholibah Hebrew meaning: My tent is in her.
The word: Prostitution used in the context of these specific verses represents Political Alliances with Pagan powers Not Idolatry as found in Ezekiel chapter 16.
We find that in Ezekiel chapter 16, The LORD is speaking of a Spiritual turning away from Him and Physical involvement with the fertility rites of Canaanite Paganism, referring to Jerusalems continual hereditary tendency bendt toward Evil.
The word Daughter(s) used in the context of verse 46 of chapter 16 is referring to areas of land as in Suburbs or Satellite Cities in Israel.
This is a direct correlation to the peoples willingness to prostitute themselves by willful Disobedience to GOD and their Sins of: Idolatry, Perversion and Pride; all of which are a far greater offense than that of Adultery and ordinary prostitution.

Re: the meaning of the names
It becomes evident that Jerusalem was chosen, whereas Samaria was not. His name is NOT is Aholah.

Aholibah = "woman of the tent" or "the tent is in her"
Tent, as in the Temple.
contains "I AM" the eternally existing name which means just that, whereas does not. One could say, that to go from Jerusalem (Aholibah) to Samaria (Aholah), two things must be removed: the hand [yud, ] of God, and the house [bet, ] of God. Some may choose to mock the kabbalistic nature of that statement, but that spiritual concept is already spelled out in the plain text of Scripture. Over and over and over again. The letter structure merely provides an additional witness to the same message.
The difference here is, there is no premise *built* upon the letters, so no license is taken, and therefore nothing mysterious is revealed at all. The letters are but a reflection of what is already stated in the plain text throughout the Hebrew Scriptures. I am merely pointing out that the same message/theme is *also* revealed in the place names. Multiple witnesses within the Word.
