You can easily spot the demoninations that have been infiltrated. The Episcopalians, Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans, the United Church of Christ, many of the traditional black demoninations. Plus a great many of the non-denominational churches will tell you what you want to hear rather than teach the gospel.

If the seminaries would stick faithfully to the infallibility and inerrancy of the Word of God this wouldn't be a problem.

As a student at an "evangelical" seminary I can tell you we even have Marxist sympothy and thought among some professors. Of course that is usually the case in most academic bubbles, but yes seminaries are a haven for communist as they hide behind the cross.

I am reading a book called "Tales from the left coast". It brings out all the communists infiltration of Hollywood. The first communist gang started by calling themselves: the Hollywood Anti-Nazi League, then, thy changed the name to the Hollywood League for Democratic Action. It is an eye opener how the Hollywood writers were compelled to always portray the bad guy as the rich man or the corporation. Any way it is a good reading book.

If you want to read a socialistic/communistic "evangelical Christian" tome, read Tony Campolo's book "Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger" (I think that's the right title). After that find a copy of David Chilton's book "Productive Christians in an Age of Guilt Manipulators."

Chilton's book exposes Campolo's for what it is, simply a socialist's inaccurate twisting of Scripture to fit his agenda. Chilton's first whack was so stinging the Campolo put out a second "amended" edition. After Chilton whacked him again, Campolo gave up.

Well, essentially Tony's book about "Rich Christians" uses Scripture (incorrectly, I might add) to "guilt" Christians with money into "sharing" because they obviously have "too much." (BTW, I once heard Tony tell an interviewer "You can't be a Christian and own a BMW.")

Chilton takes apart Tony's arguments showing God's "program" for taking care of "widows, orphans, and the poor" contrasting it with Tony's socialistic plan.

Campolo, to his credit, because of Chilton's critique revised his book, but was still unable to escape the underlying socialist tendencies. Chilton critiqued the new attempt at Christian charity, and Tony didn't give it a 3rd try.

I know TC is popular with evangelicals and I'm not trying to question his salvation or devotion to the Lord. However, his background is in a liberal, socialistic denomination (UMC) and that obviously has affected his worldview. I would highly recommend reading both books (all 4 if you're a real glutton but the first two will probably satisfy your curiosity) and deciding for yourself. Too much Christian doctrine is determined by sentimentality and superficial hermeneutics.

Funny, though, none of these translations makes any serious doctrinal difference. Of course, for something like that you could look at the Jehovah Witnesses' New World "translation." There they have deliberately altered the Greek text or mistranslated it to conform to certain distinctive Russellite doctrines.

Can't argue with you on that finer point... I simply found the first large list of Bibles to make a visual point.

However, you also know (as you showed by talking about the Jehovah's Witnesses) that there are many Bibles that are not in doctrinal agreement. How many generations will it take before Christians can't discuss doctrine with each other AT ALL?

The Bible is the inerrant Word of God but only one institution has protected its inerrancy for 2,000 years.
