I am a political consultant who has worked on numerous national campaigns, and I can tell you Fowler's reason is total bullshit. He was obviosuly ignored and not respected by Clark or his closest advisors, and was probably being forced out. What a crybaby, I can see why they dissed him.

Clark's REAL problem is not that he has neglected using the power of the internet, but that the internet has shown him up for the vacillating, egomaniacal fool he really is. They thought they could cover him his blunders, but they have failed miserably. If there ever was a candidate who needed careful media management, Clark is the guy. But they can't keep the word about him from getting out on the net.

Last night former Sec. Defense William Cohen was on either CNN or MSNBC and was asked about endorsing Clark for President.

Cohen said, suffice it to say that I axed him. And I would prefer not to comment any further.

He made it clear he would NOT be endorsing Clark.

Fowler also complained that the campaign's message and methods are focused too much on Washington, not key states and the burgeoning power of the Internet, said two associates who spoke on condition of anonymity.

I dunno. Donnie may have been right - Clark's core constituency came from the Internet. Now that the "pros" like Fabiani have taken over, they don't have a clue about how to use the 'net as a campaign tool.

Fortunately, we at FR do understand how to use the Internet to our advantage in campaigns. The recall campaign is a good example.

The really sad thing about Donnie is he really believes his web site got Clark into the race.

He obviously hasn't met the Clintons yet.

He doesn't know how lucky he is to get away from those people.

I had the remote in hand just waiting for him to say one word against this administration.

Unbelievably he said he saw nothing unusual at all about the so called restructuring of the Iraq aftermath. Said it was normal procedure and was NOT any demotion of Rumsfeld at all.

Then the talking head asked about Clark and Cohen was quite blunt in his answer. Made is clear he would not be supporting the general!
