Alaska State Troopers seized dozens of bottles of alcohol and thousands of grams of marijuana in September that were bound for Western Alaska, officials said Friday.
Troopers with the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport seized 95 750-milliliter bottles and one 375-milliliter bottle of alcohol, troopers said in a press release. They also seized 2,371 grams, about 5.2 pounds, of marijuana.

the ADN will do a piece every year or two. Unless you have seen the differwence between a dry, damp or wet village - up front and personal -it is impossible to see the damage.
It seems (IMO) the alcohol "industry" put pressure to keep these types of stories out of the news.
And in most "disfunctional" villages, booze is the problem.
Oh well, Los Anchorage has its own problems. Chased a crackhead off my back porch last Friday nite - it's everywhere, not just rural Alaska. (sigh)

The horror! How many grandmothers did the anti-terrorism security police have to search before they stumbled upon this terrist windfall? Feh.
To: freepatriot32
Howd they find the pot? Dogs?

What a racist statement, on so many levels. Besides, have these poor folks never heard of YEAST? No more racist than pointing out that many Japanese people are lactose intolerant. It's in their genes.
