Great as ever! I do think this will be as the Clinton's departure from the White House, kicking and screaming and grabbing the silver!

Neat Doug, I wonder if Hillery told Davis her ARNOLD CAPER would backfire in the L.A.Slime? She told him "It worked on W's election(last minute 30 year DWI ticket)".

Why support someone who publicly dismissed Clinton's actions as inconsequential and opposed impeachment?
To: tallhappy
You just won't it give up. Thanks for bringing it to my song thread. David Schippers, a hero of mine, twice voted for Clinton. Many of the gutless GOP didn't want Clinton convicted and didn't work very hard to make it happen. I guess they should all resign.
I am going to hold my hose and vote for Arnold. WE HAVE TO GET RID OF GRAY DAVIS AND PUT SOMEONE IN THERE WHO WILL AUDIT THE BOOKS AND START VETOING RAT LEGISLATION. You just can't accept that McClintock cannot win. You are living in a dream world. When I was 16, I worked in the Goldwater campaign. I kept hoping and hoping and hoping that just another 10% of people would change their minds. It didn't happen. Goldwater actually said some nice things about Clinton at the end of his life. I guess I should trash Barry's memory. There is such thing as political reality, no matter how distasteful. We'll do the best we can with what we get. Some Nader voters thought he was electable. Yes, some really did.

You just can't accept that McClintock cannot win. I accept that.
Why vote for someone who cared not a whit about Clinton's behavior and said he was ashamed to be a Republican.
How can you vote for someone who said publicly in a magainze interview:
I was ashamed to call myself a Republican during that period...Instead of devoting all this energy and all these hearings to how we're going to solve the problems of the inner cities . . . No, it's like, 'This man has to be removed from office because he's a national threat.' Yeah, that's a good one.
Solving the inner city problems -- yeah, that's a good one.
If you think someone who could not recognize Clinton as a national threat, be my guest.
I won't.
To: tallhappy
I am disappointed that he did not support impeachment. He was wrong. He is wrong on many issues. At least I'm glad you recognize that Tom will not be elected governor in this cycle.
So what do we now do? Let the RATS keep spending us into bankruptcy? A principled vote is fine. I can respect it. Unfortunately, our state will never get its bond ratings up until someone with fiscal responsibility is in charge. I hope Arnold can do that. For the first time in my life, and I've lived here since 1953, I have given serious consideration to leaving California. The RATS and the illegal invasion are making life almost intolerable. If Arnold is the only one who can win, I want him to have a chance. I hope the party can get him on the right side of some of the social issues.

The reason McClintock won't win is beacuse his supporters -- those who normally would vote for him -- people like you and mee -- have been sold a bill of goods that he 'can't win".
You gave up.
To: tallhappy
No, the reason he won't win is because California does not have enough voters who believe in his ideas. In this state, there are simply not enough fiscal and social conservatives.
Isa was arrested on more than one occasions. Would he be disqualified?

Polls say otherwise -- at least in this recall election.
And I'd vote for Riordan if he were there, not Schwarzenegger.
Still. If this is what you believe: Why not then just vote democrat?
I still see it as you gave up. It seems like you don't really believe in everything you've been saying and doing for these so many years. That's what it seems like. I'm sure you disagree, but to many others it seems this way.
If you want to vote for a liberal pro-Clinton politician, feel free.
I will not be though.
To: tallhappy
"And I'd vote for Riordan if he were there, not Schwarzenegger."
"If you want to vote for a liberal pro-Clinton politician, feel free."
================================
This is deliciously ironic, and you probably aren't even paying attention to what you are saying. DUH, Riordan gave money to Clinton's campaign. DUH, Riordan is pro-choice and liberal. So, please, the next time you say "If you want to vote for a liberal pro-Clinton politician, feel free," let's hope you are looking in the mirror.

I'm aware of all those things. It makes a point about Schwarzenegger. It says your argument would fly for other candidates -- but not Schwarzenegger.
Still, in reality I am not voting for Riordan, but you say you are voting for Schwarzenegger.
As I said, Doug, how can you vote for the man who said he is ashamed to be a Republican because of people like you.
I am not vopting for this pro-Clinton anti-impeachment Hollywood liberal.
You can, of course. You are welcome to it.
To: tallhappy
You didn't pay attention to what I said. You admit that you would vote for Riordan -- liberal, pro-Clinton. Then you criticize me for voting for Arnold -- liberal, pro-Clinton (at least according to you during impeachment).
