Is anybody watching the show? Can you believe what they are saying? Talking about stabing someone in the back!

I think they knew what Rush planned to say even before he said it, and didn't really think it was wrong. Then when the outcry began they felt complicit, hence the overcompensation we saw this morning. I suspect they think, by screaming loud enough, they'll deflect future criticism from themselves.

I can understand that, but Rush is anything but a 'yes' man. That was what I was responding to.

I'm in shock; however, I should not be surprised. I will never again watch ESPN’s NFL Sunday Countdown.

All made it out as Rush was implying that there is race favoritism in the NFL and its locker rooms, completely missing that the Rush's charge of race favoritism was directed ONLY at the media.

Because we all know the NFL is colorblind. Yep, they don't show a vested interest in, say, the hiring of minority coaches. Their hands are clean...

What a joke these shows have turned out to be.

Remember the commments made by Isaiah Thomas about Larry Bird?

Larry Elder responds. A blast from the past.

I don't know, but Rush has alluded to it many times. He says he doesn't know either. Probably feels inferior next to Rush's intellect, if I had to guess.

Why does Bradshaw hate Rush? I thought Terry was a conservative.

Rush said that Bradshaw looked like a monkey a couple of years ago. Bradshaw probably didn't like that.

Sorry, but McNabb is(and has been) overrated. The problem for Rush is that he is not really overrated because the media wants to see a black QB succeed. Rather he has been overrated since his college days at Syracuse, when the Northeast media was pumping him for the Heisman. He was uneven and only so-so in the big games at Syracuse, yet because he was local, there was always lots of undeserved Heisman hype from the media(driven by the Northeast members, overrepresented at ESPN and CNN). Just like they do with every Notre Dame player with an ounce of talent.

That was where the hype originated, and it simply carried over to Philly and the NFL.

You wouldn't believe how difficult he's made it for me and other conservative blacks now.

The courage that you, and your conservative brothers, have displayed is uplifting. I can't imagine the derision and scorn that have been heaped upon you.

Rush has to fight back strongly, if only to support his loyal followers. You are entirely correct that the door is now open to attacks on all conservatives. It was the act of a gentleman to resign, but Rush had to know how his resignation would be portrayed by the evil side.

By resigning, Rush validated their opinion that he his comments were wrong, that we are wrong.

Rush has reached a fork in the road: it's time for him to really fight, or get out of the way.

The silver lining in situations such as this is that it's somehow forcing the race issue to be more about ideas and concepts than skin color and people, if that makes any sense.

You and I and black and white people are over here talking about our concepts, and those idiots (both black and white) are over there talking about their idiotic ideas and concepts.

It's refreshing in a strange way. It's much better than when the lines are drawn by race.

Sorry guys, Rush blew it. There are lots of black quarterbacks playing well today. It's not like we're talking about Jackie Robinson, breaking the race barrier. It's not like the media has been carrying just this one guy, based on social concern. Thye don't even need to. Was Warren Moon also over-rated by the liberal media. Hey, Daunte Culpepper is having a great season. I don't hear the media putting him out on a podium. Rush must expect that he's going to be put on float in a parade by the rad lib sportscasters. I'm sorry. Nobody even mentioned it. It's not a big deal anymore. This ain't the 1970's, Rush. He's just another player. Aren't we conservatives trying to take the mention of race OUT of the picture?

Sure McNabb isn't playing well. Welcome to the NFL. But by the way, hasn't McNabb won some playoff games. How many white gus have failed to do that. I can think of a few!

Rush was so dumb even to go on ESPN. Any comment he would make would be put under a microscope. He was out of his league, literally. All he has done is give more ammo to the left. Rush like the stupids in the GOP strike again. Keep your darn mouth shut. Did anyone really think the lamestream media would accept Rush as one of their own?

After all this anti republican election frenzy is over, ESPN will allow them to speak their minds.

"and stick my bayonet in their bellies, and see their guts rotting in the field of battle." :)

This is about football right? Do we need decaf? I get your point, but Rush is a gentleman and it's ironic, isn't it, that he BLASTS Bush for the "new tone," yet when it comes time for him to act with class, he does so, fully in keeping with the "new tone."

The fact is Bush and Rush are both nice guys and while they can have a hard edge and be competitors, they are not ruthless like the evil Dems.
